Using dictionary to browse catalogue

Dear all, As you my know it is very useful to browse Catalogues allowing users to see entries that they not know. KOHA 2.9 had such functionality and a dictionary.pl program is available at 3.0.0 Does any one use it. How to implement? Thanks, Rafael

About LINKS on URL ans Authorities

Dear all, I have installed KOHA 3.0 on a VMWARE virtual machine with Open Suze and large majority of modules are running O.K with UNIMARC flavour option. The only problems has to see with KOHA links. If we define a field 856$a as URL it is not allowed to run external links like www.google.com. System add site sufix http://... plus the value of the field on a ISBD and Normal View and work well using MARC view. Must we change any system preference? The same problem appears when we do a search on authorities. The list that is displayed would be used to select one entry for edit. Unfortunately the link does not work because autid is not added. KOHA default Framework error

To, Respected Sir/Madam I have installed KOHA 3 on Ubuntu 8.04 successfully. But, in default framework I am not able to enter the data in 100a, 600a, 700a, and 800a. The same problem is arising in corporate name field also. Respected Sir/Madam I have installed KOHA 3 on Ubuntu 8.04 successfully. But, in default framework I am not able to enter the data in 100a, 600a, 700a, and 800a. OPAC search results -No

I have been still not able to understand why I donot get any records when I search for a particular author/title etc in koha opac. I have done the following: 1. Installed koha version 3 as per the instructions for fedora 7 2. started zebrasrv which worked correctly 3. when i ran zebraqueue_daemon.pl it doesnt do anything. 4. Completed online installation steps for intranet. 5. Imported two records from LC and saved them in my installation with all details. 6. ran ./rebuild_zebra.pl command with -b -r -w option 7. But still when i try to open opac and try to search for "proakis" as author i get "no results" found. I'm not sure about your problem but consider this: -- budgets are 'general' or are for a specific library ? If budgets are of a specific library, is you login user a user of this library ? In fact EVERY login (and also login of superlibrarians) has a specific library AND budgets of a specific library are visible to users of this library. So check this possibility. Ok - thanks everyone. We will submit a patch to fix this. Quick description of the fix: Different patron types can be configured to get a % discount off the rental charges: For example: STAFF will have a 100% discount of all rental charges for all item types, BLIND will get 100% discount of rental charges for Talking Books, DEAF will get 100% discount off rental charges for DVDs, and we could make all SENIORS get a 10% discount off rental charges for all or some item types. Where to set exemption from rental charges

Hi there, I have set up my parametres etc, including circulation rules, but I can't seem to find a place to say which borrower categories are exempt from paying which rental charges (ie by item types). For example, Patrons with category set to "Deaf" do not have to pay rental charges for item types = "DVD" but everyone else does. Thanks for help, cheers Jo.

Hi Jesse, I don't know what you mean by it was there already or someone put it there. It has been part of Koha since we commissioned Chris Cormack to write Koha back in 2000. It is not a new feature.
