Greetings, I'm having trouble getting the Google login to work since upgrading/rebuilding Koha (we rebuilt the VPS and followed the install guide: https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Debian) *The problem:* 1) I can log in through my local account, no problem. 2) I then try to login through my Google account 3) After pressing allow from the accounts.google.com site, a message is displayed: /Sorry, your Google login failed. .../ The full message is below. "Log in to your account Google login Sorry, your Google login failed. The email address you are trying to use is not associated with a borrower at this library. Please note that the Google login will only work if you are using the e-mail address registered with this library. If you want to, you can try to log in using a different account Log in with Google If you do not have a Google account, but do have a local account, you can still log in:" There are no errors in the Apache log files. *Configuration* Since we had troubles, I'm following the testing guide to configure the OAuth login: https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=10988#c68 I removed the Google OAuth entries: DELETE FROM systempreferences WHERE variable LIKE 'GoogleO%'; I then ran the upgrade schema tool, as I did when I imported the db: sudo koha-upgrade-schema keiin_lib I added values back in admin panel (Home › Administration › System preferences > Google OpenID Connect I confirmed the 4 values are displayed in the MySQL DB: SELECT * FROM systempreferences WHERE variable LIKE 'GoogleO%'; Any thoughts? Koha on Debian 10

Hi, Thanks for the replies, it seems that I need to be running Debian 9 ( Stretch) not version 10 (Buster) but there is someone called: mtj on IRC who is working on Debian 10. There doesn't seem to be a downgrade option in Debian so reinstalling the whole operating system is pretty awkward. I hope (MTJ) includes Debian 10 support soon. Best Regards, Aindriú

404.pl

While watching the top command on my ubuntu server, I notice that while retrieving search items in the OPAC I get a lot of 404.pl instances. These seem to be a drag on the performance of the server. (We are a small school with a small VPS server). I assume that these are caused by Koha searching for missing covers. Is there any way to mitigate the effect of these searches? Is there a timeout setting or even disable these searches? Thanks.

Koha wiki update/replacement

Hello Koha community! There has been discussion about updating or replacing the wiki (https://wiki.koha-community.org) The software behind the current wiki is out of date and we need to upgrade it. Or we could replace it with something more lightweight or more user-friendly. The current wiki is a gold mine of information, but that good information is hard to find. This email is an attempt to start a conversation about the best plan of action to upgrade our wiki. The main argument for changing is that the MediaWiki version we are using is obsolete. - Should we continue with a more recent version of MediaWiki or change the software? It has been argued that maybe MediaWiki is a bit to complex for our needs. DokuWiki (https://www.dokuwiki.org/dokuwiki) was cited as an option, but it's apparently too light and one needs to learn the special syntax. - If we change the software, do you have a suggestion? Some have suggested that we simply archive the current wiki and start fresh with a new one. - Would you be in favor of starting over? I'm sure I'm forgetting things, but my hope is only to get the ball rolling and that this project does not fall in the cracks once again. Elasticsearch reindex failing for authorities

Hi all, We have a site with around 600,000 authority records and have enabled elasticsearch. Reindexing and searching has worked easily for biblios (there are just over 10,000 biblios) but fails for authorities. $ sudo koha-elasticsearch --rebuild -d -a -v <instance> [19024] Checking state of authorities index [19024] Dropping and recreating authorities index [19024] Indexing authorities And then it just hangs there for ages until the server runs out of memory and dies. We're running ES 6.x on Koha 20.05.x. I tried running the script directly and specifying an authid and that worked as expected. $ perl /usr/share/koha/bin/search_tools/rebuild_elasticsearch.pl -a -d -v -ai 2135575 [17684] Checking state of authorities index [17684] Dropping and recreating authorities index [17684] Indexing authorities [17684] Committing final records... [17684] Total 1 records indexed It feels like this is happening because we have too many authority records. Is there a way to fix this? Has anyone come across this before? Continued koha-common Upgrade Challenges

Our koha installation is on Debian 10. I have previously engaged the list for upgrade challenges specifically related to the outcome of the Debian package koha-common upgrade scripts. We are stuck at koha-common version 20.05.xx at this point. My latest attempt to upgrade to 20.11.04-1 resulted in the following three error messages. Is there any way to manually alter the correct table(s) to fix the database issues? I'm not sure what the "Failed to enable unit" message means. ---------------------------- Setting up koha-common (20.11.04-1) ... Installing new version of config file /etc/cron.daily/koha-common ...
