Michael, I've had some jQuery in the Koha library for quite a while. You should take a look at https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/JQuery_Library#Add_clear_and_preset_pe… There are 3 versions of this for different versions of Koha, but this latest one includes a clear permissions button, a couple of preset permission buttons, and a copy permissions button. I always thought this would happen when copying/duplicating an existing patron. But when I actually tried it today the permissions were not there with the new patron and I had to set them manually. [translate] Migrate Pootle to Weblate

Hello everybody, If you are a translator of Koha you should read this. Pootle is dead and we should move to Weblate, which is an active and well maintained project. We have been setting up a test server to let translators see how it goes. THIS IS A TEST SERVER: none of the changes will be saved! There are some changes in how the projects are structured. We will now have 2 projects: "koha" and "koha-manual". Each will contain several "components". One component in Pootle can only track on po file, which means we need one component per po file: https://translate.test.koha-community.org/projects/koha/ shows https://snipboard.io/rtKdTS.jpg It can be a bit disturbing at first, but there is this view: https://translate.test.koha-community.org/languages/es/koha/ that shows the progress per language: https://snipboard.io/UCJ1Ky.jpg The big win are: * We should no longer get "Critical errors: Python brace placeholders" (to be confirmed) * Translation changes will be propagated between the components of a given project, and so between versions: if you modify a string for 23.05 it will also modify it for the other branches! web installer appears on upgrade

Hi, I am looking for help. With a regular upgrade of the package in Ubuntu 22.04 using apt, there was a problem running the upgrade script because of a second instance installed and running. I removed that instance, and the upgrade script completed successfully. However, after the upgrade and before and after I removed that second instance, my main Koha instance started showing the maintenance mode message on the OPAC (complete with our header image, suggesting that it is connected to the database). I thought I would check the staff client, but that shows the web installer with this message: Welcome to the Koha 22.11 web installer Before we begin, please verify you have the correct credentials to continue. Please log in with the username and password given to you by your systems administrator and located in your|koha-conf.xml|configuration file. That's not normal behavior, right? I double checked the configuration file to make sure the right database, user, and password were there. Anyway, I cannot take it out of maintenance mode. Can anyone point me in the right direction for solving this? the Koha version is 22.11.07-2. Thanks, Daniel

23.05 Multiple items - some items display incorrect shelving locations

Koha 23.05 When looking at bib records that include multiple items with different locations, we sometimes see the following: - The results list shows the correct information. - The bib record holdings view gives the shelving location of one item in the list for some subsequent items. - Edit items displays the correct locations. - The OPAC record displays correctly. This does not happen with all the records that have multiple items with different shelving locations. In some cases only one or two items in the holdings list are displayed incorrectly. I have not been able to discover why it happens to some records and not others. It is similar, but not the same as bug 34122 https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=34122 - The records concerned have not been updated / edited; the information is correct in the database, but displaying incorrectly in some views. The location that seems to be misbehaving (but possibly because it's the easiest error to detect) is "Off-site" appearing where it shouldn't. Would the - be causing a problem? Has anyone else seen something like this? Hi Toni, You should respond to the listserv, so that others can see it. I may not be available or know the answer to your question; by keeping the listserv copied on all communication you give a much larger community of people the potential to assist you. That error originates with the Coverflow plugin. Have you updated the plugin to the latest version? It is possible you upgraded Koha but not the plugin, and now the main Koha code is not compatible with your outdated plugin code. Otherwise, someone else who is more familiar with the plugin will have to help. If you are a ByWater Solutions customer, I would recommend contacting their support team, since they maintain the plugin and will know how to fix this issue.
