Error at Install.pm line 661 during install

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out with a curious installation problem. My first Koha setup was such a success (thanks to all the developers) I have another group that has asked me to do a setup for them. I wanted to do this install on OpenBSD so I gave 2.2.3 a try on OpenBSD 3.7. Other than compiling Yaz from source and a couple additional perl modules to install it's very similar to a RedHat setup. I got it working and then didn't have time to work on it for a while. When I got back to it OpenBSD 3.8 and Koha 2.2.4 was out so I repeated the same procedure and it worked again. I then decided to try and get it working in OpenBSD's Apache chroot jail so I reinstalled the OS and Koha to /var/www/koha. I found that getting Koha to run in the chroot was a difficult problem that didn't fit in my time frame so I decide I would just run Apache with the chroot disabled. I reinstalled OpenBSD again and started doing the production install and ran into the problem I mention below. I have since done a basic install again a number of times using the same procedure as before and also varying the order to see if makes a difference but with no success. The Problem: I run "perl installer.pl" and koha asks if I want to begin. I answer "enter", "Y", or "y". After this prompt it no longer asks for input and it's as if I've hit enter at every prompt and I get this error: Use of uninitialized value in scalar chomp at Install.pm line 661, <STDIN> line 1. MARC import with no ISBN #

Does MARC record have to have ISBN # in order to be imported? Tag 880

Hi: Has anyone successfully made use of tag 880 which is used to store information of a foreign language book (e.g. Chinese) in its native language (Chinese). Field 100, 245 etc were used to record the romanized version of the record. Since Koha is linked to only 1 field for display, if we would like our record to be displayed in Chinese, that means we need to swap the code 880 into 100 and 245 etc... Internal Server Error - C4::Databse

I have installed Koha on Ubuntu Linux 4.10 (Warty distribution) with Mysql 4.0.17 and Apache 1.3.33 I set up two named-based virtual hosts to one IP address and the server is dedicated to Koha. My virtual hosts configs. are shown in attachment. I access the home page by typing http://128.1.9.245:80/index.html which serves the "Welcome to Koha" Message and the next page is loaded according to the meta-equiv directive in index.html. The URL is /cgi-bin/mainpage.pl But the redirected page cannot load and results in the Internal Server Error message shown in the attachment. I checked the error_log file and noted the error which is shown in the attachment. The mainpage.pl is looking for a C4/Database.pm module as indicated by use C4::Database line. I headed to CPAN to search for C4::Database but I couldn't locate a module with that specific name. The ones which were shown, I thought, were not relevant to Koha. So my question, where are these C4::Database, etc modules referred to in the mainpage.pl. Are they in Mysql database? I fired up Mysql and tried to list the tables in Koha but got an error message that the contents of Koha database could not be displayed. I am quite a long way from getting Koha configured correctly as there are many dependent Perl Modules that must interact correctly. I have googled for the error message but on a slow network, the download of information is frustrating. Thanks in advance for the assistance. Hi, some news about 2.2.5 roadmap. It should be released as christmas gift, at the end of next week, or maybe january, 2nd. French libraries are testing this version. It almost only fixes bugs. Merry & holy christmas to everybody. Hi, I think on an earlier post you said there was a developers list server. I haven't looked for it but would like to join and see if I can find an answer to the LDAP "use strict" problem. I did join the perl-Net::LDAP list server. I'm going to ask the question there to see if I can get a clue. I haven't done anything else to fix the LDAP problem. It runs fine if I go through the scripts and comment out "use strict;". I'm trying to match what entries that Koha uses in the borrowers table with attributes in LDAP that would be used to populate those fields. We don't normally populate all attributes in LDAP that would be used in Koha so there are some choices to be made and further configuration that has to be decided on. This project is coming along, however. I've migrated 41,000 records from Follett that runs on Netware to Koha on Fedora Core 4. Since we are using LDAP for authentication, we have 2500 users in LDAP that could in theory, be able to check out books. This is still a test bed and not the production system. I've dumped and reloaded the database many times as I learn more about how this works. I'll let you and the community know if I find an answer to the LDAP problem. Kent N. When I imported a MARC record with chinese characters using MARCedit to convert the file into UTF8, several of the characters did not display properly (see attached file) I already set the web browser encoding to match with MARC Edit. Still come up with the same problem... it looks like during the import process, some characters were not read correctly by Koha? Has anyone encountered similar problem? I suspect the reason the problem is manifest even while the font that you have currently selected in Firefox may display the same character correctly when you type it is because two almost identical glyphs are used in Unicode for the same basic character sometimes. Whatever font you have currently configured for Firefox may be unable to display the glyph that MARCEdit assigned in the conversion of the record to UTF-8. The optimal font should display the different glyphs correctly for the same basic character.
