local install for testing

Hi All, I'm in the midst of buying a new computer and I want to be able to install my own copy of Koha and Evergreen. I was planning to get a dual boot system with Ubuntu. I would just want to be able to use my copies of Koha and Evergreen to learn the system better. Would this be the approach you would recommend? Or should I do it with virtual box or something more along those lines? Lori

fatal error in circulation

hi, all. our librarian changed something (she does not know what) in the global preferences for circulation, and now we can't access any of the circulation preferences (all other preferences appear fine). when you select "circulation" in the preference list, the following error message appears. any idea what we need to do to repair this (or what is wrong)? any help is greatly appreciated! thanks in advance. Hi all Looking to see busy times in the library. Can you GROUP BY hour? If so, how? Respected All I am installing Koha on ubuntu 9.10 When I am going to installer page localhost:8080 I am getting the error Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@brims-desktop and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Creating original MARC records in Koha

We're in the process of upgrading from 2.2.3 to 3.0 (which is very exciting!). Cataloging in MARC looks different. All the fields are the same, but how do you get them to expand (not add another one of the same thing) so you can type information in the box? In the old Koha, all the boxes are there and you just fill in the ones you need. I'm very confused! I can import MARC records and copy catalog, but I need to be able to create original records also.
