Nicole reports in Bug 4416 (http://bugs.koha.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=4416): "On the patron record the renew all and the return all buttons are very close together and librarians are accidentally clicking return all (as I have on many occasions) - can we put more space between them - or right align one and left align the other so they're far apart and require reading?" I agree, and my librarians have already had me hide the button in our system. My take on it: I'd like to [officially] get rid of the "Return all" button altogether. Returning all items is a step which one wouldn't take lightly or even regularly. Since the interface has a means of selecting all checkboxes in the "Check in" column, removing the "Return all" button wouldn't eliminate the means of doing so, it would just require more deliberation. That seems appropriate. Does anyone object? Thanks, Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org
We have hidden this function as well. Getting rid of it makes sense to me. -Rich Boulet -----Original Message----- From: koha-bounces@lists.katipo.co.nz [mailto:koha-bounces@lists.katipo.co.nz] On Behalf Of Owen Leonard Sent: Friday, April 30, 2010 2:40 PM To: Koha List Subject: [Koha] Seeking comments on "Return all" function Nicole reports in Bug 4416 (http://bugs.koha.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=4416): "On the patron record the renew all and the return all buttons are very close together and librarians are accidentally clicking return all (as I have on many occasions) - can we put more space between them - or right align one and left align the other so they're far apart and require reading?" I agree. On our server we decided to hide both the "Return all" and "Renew all" buttons, and just have the "Renew or Return checked items" button, for exactly the same reasons. BTW, we love the Override Renewal Limit function! Hi Since there is now a check all and uncheck all, I think it would be better not to have those two Return All and Renew all buttons. The simple check all return/ or Renew is enough. My 2 cts. -- Henri-Damien LAURENT
NEKLS has removed the return all, as it does not trigger holds as expected, which is VERY problematic for us. Nuke it! :) Liz Rea NEKLS On Apr 30, 2010, at 1:40 PM, Owen Leonard wrote:
