Good day, My librarian is having trouble finding how to print overdue notices so we can distribute to students -- we don't collect student emails so we need a way for the librarian to either print directly from a web interface in the staff client or have them emailed to her own email so she can print them. Richard, If the student email addresses are not available, Koha will send the notices to the librarian's email address by default. Thanks, Savitra Sirohi Nucsoft OSS Labs http://www.osslabs.biz 2010/4/28 Richard Forristall <Richard.Forristall@goodwillaz.org>:

I wrote a set of macro's to convert the email attachments of overdue notices into an easy to print format. I'd be happy to share with anyone who could use them. They are in VBA and use Excel and Word. You'd have to do some modifications for your library's name and the path to the docs but nothing major. Thanks Savitra, That's part of our problem. Our librarian is not getting any emails which leads me to believe we are missing a setting somewhere in the staff client. Can someone tell me where in the staff client parameters are for setting up sending overdue notices? Thanks! Richard, You will need following: 1. Patron Category: Check "overdue" check box. 2. Set up tools->notice triggers for each patron category, at least 1 with say a delay of 1 (day). 3. Set up overdue_notices.pl and process_messages.pl in the crontab 4. Email address should be setup for the library (administration->libraries, groups..) 5. A mail server should be configured to send the messages out. Sorry, this is not very precise, don't have full details off hand. Hope this will help you move forward. Make sure you can send email from the command line. If not, it doesn't matter what else Koha tries to do. Then make sure the cronjob is running and check the logs to see if there are any hangups. --Joe 2010/4/28 Richard Forristall <Richard.Forristall@goodwillaz.org>

Richard, There's also a new feature coming downstream http://bugs.koha.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=3482 specifically to handle print notices. Don't know whether it is in your version yet or not but it allows you to email to those who have addresses and produces an HTML page of paper notices for those who do not - these can then be printed. Hi John, ---------- Forwarded message ----------

Hello,
I try to print patron Cards with koha3.00.06 Label creator Tool.
I searched how to print the cards with the name of the patron on it. But I did not find the function to do it.
I searched the internet and wiki. But couldn’t find any hint to do this. Is there a possibility to do that or where can I configure it?
I am new to Koha. Perhaps I did not see the function?
As Scott Daniels mentioned, the Patron Card Creator tool in 3.0.x is unfinished and will most likely stay that way. That tool, along with the Label Creator tool, was totally re-written for 3.2 and the changes will not backport easily. The "hack" Scott suggests will get you somewhat closer to what you are looking for. However, i would suggest either waiting for 3.2 stable, or setup a sandbox with 3.2, move over a copy of your current Koha db, and use the Patron Card Creator there. While kbarcode no doubt works fine for grabbing text data from Koha's db and creating cards, the Patron Card Creator currently allows for up to two graphic images to be placed on the card, including the patron's photo, etc. Kind Regards, Chris
