How to enable patron login in OPAC
by otuoma 21 Jan '14

21 Jan '14

We have a big database of over 20 thousand+ patrons. Now, we want to activate patron accounts so they can log-in and manage their own accounts. When we created each patron's account, a password was generated. What is this password and how can we update it for all patrons so they can all log-in with one password and then change it later on their own? Or if there is another way around this, I will really appreciate any new ideas. Thanks all in advance. -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/How-to-enable-patron-login-in-OPAC-tp5784… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Searching on 099
by Doug Dearden 21 Jan '14

21 Jan '14

Hello all, I received this query from our librarian "In the archive database we use the 099 field for call numbers but the opac search option for call number doesn't seem to search this field. Could we add it? I can't find it in administration or the manual". I dug around in the administration section and couldn't figure it out either. In this database we don't use item records, only biblio records. I am thinking that to make this happen I need to modify Zebra configuration file(s), but I am not sure. Koha version 3.12.03.000 installed on Debian Squeeze using packages. Zebra version 2.0.47. Thanks! Doug Dearden Director, IT School for Advanced Research (505)954-7220 sarweb.org

Z39.50 searching by Publisher
by Andrea Furin 20 Jan '14

Is it possible to make a searching in Z39.50 mask also by publisher? in file z3950_search.tt I've add a: <li><label for="biblioitems.publishercode">Publisher: </label> <input type="text" id="biblioitems.publishercode" name="biblioitems.publishercode" value="[% biblioitems.publishercode %]" /></li> so the z39.50 mask has a new field, but the results mask doesn't filter with it --

wrong sorting order of results beginning with accented letters (č, š, ř, ž,...)
by Bohdan Šmilauer 20 Jan '14

20 Jan '14

Hi to all! I'm trying to achieve the correct sorting in the search results in Koha 3.12 installed on Ubuntu 12.04. I followed the instructions on http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Encoding_and_Character_Sets_in_Koha (http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Encoding_and_Character_Sets_in_Koha) Despite this, the sorting of the results of authorities or titles is wrong. You can see it on http://koha.doxos.eu:8080/(http://koha.doxos.eu:8080/) The variable "locale" is set to cs_CZ.UTF-8 and a simple sample sorting program written in Perl works correctly. Does anyone know which programs in Koha control the collation order of resullts on Opac and how to fix it? Thank you very much for the advice.
