Captive web portal with Koha - SIP2 + ???
by Chad Roseburg 17 Jan '14

17 Jan '14

Has anyone setup a captive web portal integrating authentication from Koha via SIP2? FreeRADIUS doesn't support SIP2 apparently, though a Millenium library has written a connector in Perl. Millenium connector: http://innovativeusers.org/list/archives/2011/msg04731.html Another OSS support vendor we go through uses a Perl connector sans RADIUS to authenticate against Koha via SIP2 and I could see about integrating that into freeRADIUS ... But before I re-invent the wheel I thought I'd ask here first. Thank you! Chad -- Chad Roseburg Automation Dept. North Central Regional Library

First public library in Norway to choose Koha
by Anne Lena Westrum 17 Jan '14

17 Jan '14

Dear Community! Oslo Public Library (a.k.a. "Deichmanske bibliotek" or just "Deichman") is happy to announce that we have decided to move to Koha as the first public library in Norway. We are the largest public library in Norway, situated in the capital Oslo. We are fully automated with RFID and self checkout stations in most of our 17 branches. In 2017 we will move into a new building with a brand new book sorting system. The move to Koha is the first step in a total makeover of all our IT systems. There will be a lot of work to do on the migration, development of missing features and integrations with other systems, so we have a lot of fun in front of us :) You can read more about the library and the process on our blog: http://digital.deichman.no/blog/2014/01/16/oslo-public-library-chooses-the-… We have hired long time community member Magnus Enger in a part time temporary position to help us with migration and development and look forward to becoming an active part of the Koha Community. We can't wait to work together with all of you in the Community to make Koha even better! We also look forward to meeting some of you at hackfests and conferences in the not too distant future! Best regards, All the hackpeeps at Oslo Public Library

You'd have to edit Koha's files and maintain your changes on every update to change it. I think showing the home library of the patrons could be a nice enhancement for the existing routing slip and the 'Due date' column could be edited in a way to make it possible to easily hide it using CSS. You could file an enhancement request on bugzilla: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/ Katrin > -----Original Message----- > From: koha-bounces(a)lists.katipo.co.nz [mailto:koha- > bounces(a)lists.katipo.co.nz] On Behalf Of Fung, Hing-Choi > Sent: Tuesday, January 14, 2014 10:35 PM > To: koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz > Subject: [Koha] FW: Modify the Serial Routing slip > > > How can I change the "Date Due" column into the "Location" column; and add a > signature column in the serial routing slip? FW: Modify the Serial Routing slip
by Fung, Hing-Choi 15 Jan '14

15 Jan '14

How can I change the "Date Due" column into the "Location" column; and add a signature column in the serial routing slip? Our library routes out journals and magazines to staff members in different divisions. The staff members do not need to return the journals and magazines to the library. They just need to forward to the next person according to the location. That is why we need a "location" column. Our library is using the Koha 3.12.03.000. How to link authorities to biblios?
by Bohdan Šmilauer 14 Jan '14

14 Jan '14

Hi to all! Let me introduce myself, I am a librarian in Prague, Czechia, I am a beginner in Koha. What is my problem? I imported bibliographic and authority records into Koha 3.12 installed on Ubuntu 12.04. But they were not interlinked together, neither after the importing process, which I had previously supposed they should. The priorities were set AutoCreateAuthorities = yes, BiblioAddsAuthorities = allow. Each bibliographic record has created its own separate authority, although they should be shared by several bibliographic records. I ran the program links_bibs_to authorities.pl but he did not join it. It is not some method to consolidate authority records? My example is on URL (one author Holomek, two books, two separate authorities, should be one only) http://koha2.doxos.eu/cgi-bin/koha/opac-authorities-home.pl?op=do_search& type=opac&operator=start&value=Holomek&marclist=any&and_or=and&orderby= HeadingAsc. Could somebody give me advice, what should I do? Is there some guide how to import biblios and authorities records and to interlink them together? Many thanks in advance for your help.
