Re: [Koha] how do I use z3590 with coha for shared cataloguing from Italian libraries?

Hi, Camilla: go to http://your_koha:8080/cgi-bin/koha/admin/z3950servers.pl, press button "New Z39.50 server" and fill in every required field using info you found in the sbn.it page. This will allow you to copy cataloging (Unimarc) records also from SBN. HTH. Ciao. how do I use z3590 with coha for shared cataloguing from Italian libraries?
by La Biblioteca del Garibaldi 09 Jan '14

I am *really really* new at all this. I'm working in an Italian school library. My computer has a windows OS so I followed all the instructions given to run koha on a virtual box see here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1W4vUwEQK5alc474WEt0h38qQ5VOGJxPpnJiytxJ… What now? For example how do I get to do shared cataloguing through z3590 protocol? After setting up I only see a few US libraries. Famous, prestigious but at the moment of no help to me. I need to catalogue Italian books from Italian libraries for example from here: http://www.sbn.it/opacsbn/opac/iccu/free.jsp Camilla BiblioDoc teacher librarian

[From your request: Accesso Z39.50 all'opac SBN. Dati di configurazione essenziali per il target: indirizzo: opac.sbn.it porte: 2100 o 3950 nome DB: nopac sintassi dei record: SUTRS o UNIMARC (su ambedue le porte) set di attributi: Bib-1 (parte) set di caratteri: UTF-8 ] or [note we use Koha 3.8, your flavour may vary] go to the Koha Manual page <http://manual.koha-community.org/3.8/en/additionaladmin.html#z3950admin> It does respond, (just tried Il buio e il miele / Arpino) but we're not set up for UNIMARC, so I can't really judge the validity of the data... Zebra indexing problems
by Tom Hanstra 08 Jan '14

08 Jan '14

I'm seeing some rather odd indexing problems with incremental indexing and Koha 3.12.05. I have everything set up with Zebra 2.0.56 and Yaz 5.0.9. Full indexing works fine and incremental indexing logs the fact that changes are seen and should be applied. And I've had incremental indexing work sometimes, but very seldom. Most changes are simply not being found when I search in the OPAC. Even after the data and incremental index changes, the old values are still being found rather than the new. Has anyone seen such indexing problems before? What can I be checking to track this problem down and address it? moremember.pl shows high CPU usage after upgrade to 3.14
by Jason Sherman 08 Jan '14

08 Jan '14

Hi all, After upgrading our system to 3.14, things are generally great, with the exception of this one issue. Loading the moremember.pl page for patrons with overdues takes upwards of 20 seconds, and top shows that the script is completely hogging the CPU. Patrons without overdues load just fine. My first thought was that it was doing some kind of crazy db query, but mysqld doesn't seem to be using any more resouces than usual while this is happening. Has anybody else experienced this? Any suggestions? -- Jason Sherman Systems Librarian University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma 405.574.1340

Koha 3.14 bootstrap OPAC display question
by Elaine Bradtke 07 Jan '14

07 Jan '14

Greetings and happy new year We're experimenting with 3.14.1 and a new colour scheme for the OPAC in our test site. The colour scheme seems to have applied just fine. The problem is with bootstrap. With the bootstrap theme enabled we end up with unsightly grey blocks with white text for tags such as Source: Publisher: Availability: , etc. Here's a link to an example of what it looks like https://drive.google.com/a/efdss.org/?usp=chrome_app#folders/0B0ag4Jlx4aGmM… When you go to the record there are similar blocks around the tags for Publisher: Description: Subject(s): In: Summary: etc. Even when I remove our colour scheme, the grey blocks are still there. I would like to have these tags appear in bold text in the same colour as the rest of the text rather than highlighted in grey. Can anyone tell me how to change this? Or point us in the right direction?
