I started out trying to use CentOS because it is the linux best supported in our Hyper-V environment. I eventually switched to Ubuntu. You should be able to install a Fedora SRPM into Centos for most of the missing packages. I'll also see what I can do to help the repository along, if it is going to be of any assistance.
