It was briefly down this morning, I haven't had a chance to check why yet. It is, however, back up. search problem - maybe javascript?
by davidlamhauge 27 Jan '14

I have the problem, that no matter what field i place the cursor, it jumps to "search catalog". Even when I scan a barcode, because some patron want to borrow a book, the nuber is scanned, transferred to the "search catalog" field, and delivers a search result. Is it a javascript that does this? I'm running koha 3.14.01 on a ubuntu 13.10 server. -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/search-problem-maybe-javascript-tp5785442… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Ideas for Amazon Image covers
by Matthew Charlesworth, S.J. 27 Jan '14

27 Jan '14

Hi everyone, (Running Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS and Koha 3.1401000) I just thought I'd share that after every upgrade I run the following commands: sed -i 's/MZZZZZZZ/LZZZZZZZ/g' /usr/share/koha/intranet/htdocs/intranet-tmpl/prog/en/modules/catalogue/ detail.tt sed -i 's/MZZZZZZZ/LZZZZZZZ/g' /usr/share/koha/opac/htdocs/opac-tmpl/prog/en/modules/opac-detail.tt sed -i 's/TZZZZZZZ/MZZZZZZZ/g' /usr/share/koha/opac/htdocs/opac-tmpl/prog/en/modules/opac-results.tt that basically make the bookcover larger/better definition in both the Results and Opac/Intranet Detail pages... I was wondering if this was the right way to do this, and if people prefer the larger images, could it be possible to have this as part of the normal .tt files that come with every upgrade? Also - is there a downside to doing this? Or could we have a systems preference to choose the size of the various bookcovers? Regards Matthew http://library.hekima.ac.ke/

News from BibLibre
by Paul Poulain 27 Jan '14

27 Jan '14

Hi, Most of you probably saw it on twitter or google+, but for the others, there's an important announcement for BibLibre: http://www.biblibre.com/en/blog/afi-and-biblibre-are-getting-closer There won't be any visible change for the Koha community, except, maybe, some new developers submitting or testing patches, which is always good ;-) For libraries that could be interested in our services, that's an important change though: with a larger company, we can manage larger contracts. Until now, we focused on French libraries. 2014 will be the year where we focus on EU libraries. The 1st contract 2014 has been with a Swedish institute in Roma. Others coming soon, hopefully, so stay tuned ;-) Have a good day PS: AFI has some OpenSource (GPL v3) tools& softwares, french-centric, that we plan to promote after making them less french-centric ;-) Stay tuned here as well ! -- Paul POULAIN - BibLibre http://www.biblibre.com Free & Open Source Softwares for libraries Koha, Piwik, Jasper

Re: [Koha] Help with installation on CentOS 6.4

I started out trying to use CentOS because it is the linux best supported in our Hyper-V environment. I eventually switched to Ubuntu. A Devian-based distro (with package support) is just so much easier. ----- Reply message ----- From: "Nicholas van Rheede van Oudtshoorn" <vanoudt(a)gmail.com> To: "Tom Hanstra" <tom(a)nd.edu> Cc: "koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz" <koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz> Subject: [Koha] Help with installation on CentOS 6.4 Date: Sat, Jan 25, 2014 5:24 pm If it helps, I've enabled Centos 6 builds in my (fedora-based) repository. Not all of the packages required have built yet (CentOS seems to have some dependencies missing), but a good whack of them are there for you here http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/vanoudt/CentOS_CentOS-6/. You should be able to install a Fedora SRPM into Centos for most of the missing packages. I'll also see what I can do to help the repository along, if it is going to be of any assistance. local and Amazon cover images
by Haik Zargaryan 26 Jan '14

Dear list, We have enables both local and Amazon cover images for our OPAC. Once koha finds an Amazon cover image for the given book, it displays both local and Amazon covers. However, we want koha to a single cover images, preferably the local one. Is there any way to handle this issue? Thanks in advance, haik.

For what it's worth, I just discovered the following >French document >for how to install Koha on Fedora: He didn't say otherwise, Josh. He *complimented* the developers, which I tend to think is a great attitude. :) Installation issues - particularly with this problem - are not an unusual complaint in the least - it's a pain to install, plain and simple. The dependencies ought to be bundled together to make this a one, two, three process. If it's the case that LibLime doesn't want to make for an easy installation for financial interests, that's fine. But Fedora is not a strange distro in the least, nor is the complaint that it's too hard to install far afield. Cheers, Brooke
