Koha and RFID
by Keener, Nancy 19 Jan '15

19 Jan '15

Our library is considering RFID in our near future. Are there any Koha libraries out there using RFID? Does SIP limit RFID functionality? And finally, what vendor did you choose? Limit staff to one library
by CTS-Programmer 3 (Paul Dokken) 19 Jan '15

19 Jan '15

We have a Koha instance with 2 libraries. We have several staff accounts with the superlibrarian permission but we do not want them to see both libraries. When they do a Search the catalogue items show up from both libraries. How do we restrict what libraries they can see? Thanks, Paul

Cover upload fails
by uwe 18 Jan '15

18 Jan '15

Hello, I would like to figure out a problem with my koha installation 3.18.01 on a debian wheezy server (installed with apt). Cover upload fails with ending up at "Upload progress:100%." (this means that the page is missing the forms to choose the biblio number and the save button). I found nothing in my server logs but Firefox JavaScript console says: > "Load denied by X-Frame-Options: > https://xxxx.xxx:8080/cgi-bin/koha/tools/upload-file.pl does not > permit framing. TypeError: jQuery.handleError is not a function" > (ajaxfileupload.js line 86) Thanks for some hints to solve the problem. Best wishes Uwe

Hello to all, we need to charge patrons for holds, we tried to set it up in patron categories (field Hold Fee), but we were unsuccesful. Is anybody using this functionality, or is it possible that we found a bug? Thank you -- Josef Moravec josef.moravec(a)gmail.com

Date off
by Jack Morash 17 Jan '15

17 Jan '15

Evening all, I seem to be having a date problem. I've found the date ahead 1 day in two places. 1. I checked myself out a book. I then looked at my Circulation History. The column for date is one day ahead. the column for Checked out On" is the correct date. 2. Under Acquisitions, I added an item to a basket. Again the date entered was the next day. I've checked the server and the date and time are correct. Is there somewhere in one of the settings or a configuration file that specifies the date?? We are running Version 3.16.04 Running on an Amazon EC2 server Ubuntu flavored Linux system Thanks Jack Morash

Help Lost all Biblio information
by Boulier, Jack 17 Jan '15

17 Jan '15

I must say that I am finding that asking a question and seeking help can be frustrating on this site. I am trying to find out if someone will assist me in recovering my database. All of the bibliographical information for my collection is missing, yet the database is indicating records are present. I have read everything I can find. Have modified the xml config file. There is so much contradictory information out there how can anyone follow it. My error message in the xml configuration is: g You have set <use_zebra_facets> but the <zebra_bib_index_mode> is not set to dom. Falling back to legacy facet calculation. But this is meaningless to me. Can someone please give me some good information so I do not have to begin entering from scratch?? Journey to Koha installation (server question)
by Jesse Lambertson 16 Jan '15

16 Jan '15

Hello everyone, We are finally about to order our Linux server on which will be installed Koha. Logistics take longer than one thinks sometimes. :) In previous submissions to the list, I have asked about virtualization on a windows server and RAM specs to properly run Koha if we went with a virtual option. Thank you for your input. We are buying a proper server in order to avoid virtualization. My technical support people are asking about best-practices and best-specifications for the server. They want to verify the server NEITHER under-performs NOR over-performs my needs. What are the smaller special libraries running Koha 3.16 on Debian/Linux finding to be best RAM requirements? Also, are there other specifications related to processing that should be taken into consideration? Thank you in advance. This community is great. koha-latest.tar.gz isn't the latest
by Bob Ewart 16 Jan '15

16 Jan '15

It is koha-3.18.00 instead of 3.18.02. and on the download page, the link to Koha 3.18.0 (.tar.gz) ponts to koha-3.18.00-beta.tar.gz. Would someone please fix that. I'm trying to re-write the INSTALL.opensuse documentation for openSUSE 13.2, since the current documentation is several years old (openSUSE 11.3 no longer supported) I found that in trying to follow my instructions. database problem
by Daniel Owens 16 Jan '15

16 Jan '15

My Koha instance is displaying the following error: Software error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (111) at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Context.pm line 802. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Auth.pm line 68. Compilation failed in require at /usr/share/koha/opac/cgi-bin/opac/opac-main.pl line 23. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/koha/opac/cgi-bin/opac/opac-main.pl line 23. I am guessing this has to do with my MySQL setup, not Koha. Can anyone confirm that? I assume I will need to use SSH to connect to MySQL and dump the database, but I am not sure where to go from there. Can anyone give any pointers for how to recover? Daniel
