Hi all, How to give a (staff) Koha (3.12) Patron permission so he/she can only *add* new catalogue and edit/modify it, but *can not* delete its record. Thanks in advance. -- Andi Sugandi.

As Indranil says I've seen this happen when Koha is running at a newer version on the "destination" server than the "source" server. I usually fix it by manually executing the DB upgrade script. So in your example on the destination server run: koha-upgrade-schema library Assuming that runs successfully, I think the "welcome" page will be gone after that. Hope this helps! Steve P.S. It appears you're running your commands as ROOT...you may want to be logging in as your Koha user and running all of your command via 'sudo' instead of running them as ROOT directly. If your old server's Koha version is lower than your new server's Koha version, then you will see this most definitely. Is that the case? 12.04 LTS to 14.04 LTS upgrade - any caveats?

Hi there My Koha is currently on Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS which is prompting me to "do-release-upgrade" to 14.04.1 LTS. Anyone done this? Is it seamless? Any issues for Koha installation? Backup and migrate Koha from one server to another

I am migrating Koha from one server to another. On the old server, I run # koha-dump library I got two dump files for the database and the configuration On the new server, I run # koha-restore sqldumpfile configdumpfile I see that on the new server, I have the new instance folders in the /etc/koha/sites and also the new databases. However, when I access http://library-admin.usj.edu.mo:8080, I was asked to lead to the " Welcome to the Koha web installer" web page. I thought I should be displayed with the admin login page to access my old Koha server contents. Can anyone tell me what has been done wrong here? Or what is the appropriate procedure to move Koha from one server to another? Regards, Kitty

Generating dollar value reports

I'm a newbie, so I apologize if this is a dumb question, but I'm under a time crunch and need some help. How can I run a quick report that tells me the dollar value of our library's inventory? I've got a report for the total number of items by type, but can't figure out how to generate the $$$. Many thanks, and please feel free to email me directly with any suggestions. I'm assuming you installed with packages (it'd be silly not to on ubuntu) in which case you just need to run sudo koha-shell before running the command. If for some strange reason you aren't using packages. Then still nothing needs to be installed you just need to set and export the KOHA_CONF and PERL5LIB variables.
