Display of Scrolling New Arrivals List on Koha OPAC

Dear Koha users, It is nice to share one trick/Jugar to display the scrolling list of New Arrivals in your library OPAC or even at your library website. Go to advance search than select the Item type one by one all like Books, CD/DVD, Thesis, e-books, reference books etc. than simply hit the SEARCH button (Without entering any kew words), it will display all your library materials result than sort the result by “Acquisition date : Newest to oldest” . After that select the RSS feed red color icon on top which will display the same result list, than copy the link location and paste it in any rss feed scroller available on internet like http://feed.mikle.com/ <http://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Ffeed.mikle.com%2F&h=UAQEMvojp&en…> . Now just paste the entire code as instructed in the feed reader website after necessary modifications like number of item to display, color etc. on your Koha opac system preferences. You can also use the List option to create one list of new arrivals and than use the above steps (version 3.20 and above). Hi there! Using the acquisition date as the "newest material" sortin index is problematic because the Items are sorted in the acquisiton order, meaning that the topmost results have not yet arrived to the library and might not arrive in many months if you preorder your Items. See http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=13707 this adds a new column datereceived, which tells when the Item has been actually received to your library. Authotity matching rules

Good morning We're becoming crazy with Authorities matching rule, and before modify directly on MySQL I wish to share with you our problems, just in case somebody may help us on this. We are testing on ubuntu koha 3.18.4 (DOM) and 3.14.7 (GRS)installed via packages We are trying to reimport all authorities replacing the old ones via matching rule, the issue is that we have not been able to find the right matching rules. (We have exported the old one, modified and try to reload) If we are not wrong Local-Number index is authority 001 tag *  <kohaidx:index_control_field tag="001"> <kohaidx:target_index>Local-Number:w</kohaidx:target_index> <kohaidx:target_index>Local-Number:n</kohaidx:target_index> <kohaidx:target_index>Local-Number:s</kohaidx:target_index> </kohaidx:index_control_field>* *(We have checkd the manual and Local-Number is not listed as index for matching rule, but as far as we know if the index exists in koha, it should work)* The issue is that all matches done via batch import are wrong, it matchs de source 001 to any field of database instead of 001, for example it matchs with 130$f We can delete all authorities and load again, and links will keep anywat via 'an', or we can modify via MySQL (it is a simple change) but before force it, anybody has any idea? Is it seamless? Any issues for Koha installation? Not done a "upgrade", but certainly use 14.04 (clean install) as well as 12.04 which is valid until April 2017... Also note that the latest release of the 14 LTS is 14.04.2 (Feb. 2015) The only minor changes that could impact you are Apache (goes from 2.2 to 2.4), and depending which version of Koha you are using, there could (unlikely) be minor discrepancies in dependencies and perl versions. We have two bids so far: - Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece - National Library of the Philippines Both bids lack a link to a more detailed proposal so far. 12.04 LTS to 14.04 LTS upgrade - any caveat?

Hi there My Koha is currently on Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS which is prompting me to "do-release-upgrade" to 14.04.1 LTS. Anyone done this? Is it seamless? Any issues for Koha installation? Strange uploading procedure

Hello everyone, I am experiencing strange things upon upload of records to my koha instance. Our instance is in testing mode and is not live yet. Debian 7 - Koha 3.20 on a local server. When I do a search, say, "Oman history," or "fishes - Arabian Sea" my results list returns with records SANS holdings as well as the same records WITH holdings. Am I missing something in my upload stage or is there a way to "hide" results that have no holdings (952 and all subfields)? Getting a bunch of duplicate records really clutters my search results. Is there a solution to this issue? Thank you in advance, I am learning a ton with each new koha interaction. Dear Sir, I recently upgraded from koha 3.18 to 3.20 on debian 7.1. Presently I got software error on koha opac and staff client page. My website is library.cutn.ac.in The following are the errors respectively. Software error: Can't call method "param" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Auth.pm line 450. For help, please send mail to the webmaster ([no address given]), giving this error message and the time and date of the error.
