Multiple holds for same title for book club librarian
by Christopher Davis 10 Sep '15

10 Sep '15

Dear Colleagues, There are times when a librarian needs to put multiple copies of the same title on hold in order to collect all of these copies of that title for distribution to book club members. Is there a way that Koha can allow multiple holds of the same title on a single patron account or a way to override the to block to this? Maybe a recall order on a title...? Thank you, Christopher Davis mr.cataloger(a)gmail.com (435) 621-2957

zebra search not working with error 114
by Philippe Michel 09 Sep '15

09 Sep '15

Hi, For 2 years we've used Koha in a small community library in Alès, France; I'm not a professional librarian. Search did not work anymore with recently acquired items but it was OK for old ones; i updated koha from version 3.18.9 to version 3.18.10, but now the search doesn't work for any of the items. It doesn't work for a general search neither for a particular search (title, author, etc) The format of the database is unimarc. When i look at the zebrasrv logs it says zebrasrv(1) e0489cb5 [request] Search biblios ERROR 114 1 1+0 RPN @attrset Bib-1 @attr 1=1016 @attr 4=6 @attr 5=1 social I tried the yaz client directly, it says : # yaz-client -c /etc/koha/zebradb/ccl.properties unix:/var/run/koha/laretive/bibliosocket Connecting...OK. Sent initrequest. Connection accepted by v3 target. ID : 81 Name : Zebra Information Server/GFS/YAZ Version: 4.2.30 98864b44c654645bc16b2c54f822dc2e45a93031 Options: search present delSet triggerResourceCtrl scan sort extendedServices namedResultSets Elapsed: 0.004361 Z> base biblios Z> f social Sent searchRequest. Received SearchResponse. Search was a bloomin' failure. Number of hits: 0, setno 1 Result Set Status: none records returned: 0 Diagnostic message(s) from database: [114] Unsupported Use attribute -- v2 addinfo 'any' I did koha-rebuild-zebra but that didn't help (output is attached) I did the translation "perl translate install fr-FR" as well. Reinstalling koha 3.18.9 and reimporting the database doesn't help. A message in the mail archive related to this error [1] says that it could be related to the hidelostitems parameter, so i switched it but that didn't change anything. Another message in the archives [2] says that etc/zebradb/biblios/etc/dom-config.xml should be 54 lines long, and i found out that my etc/koha/zebradb/biblios/etc/dom-config.xml in only 48 lines long (but it's the file from the debian package so i guess it's correct). The file is attached. Any ideas ? [1] https://lists.katipo.co.nz/public/koha/2008-November/016048.html [2] https://lists.katipo.co.nz/public/koha/2014-June/039686.html

Dear Colleagues, At present, Koha has an API into OverDrive's eBook platform which allow the Koha OPAC to search a library's OverDrive eBook collection in real time for the book being searched for in the OPAC. The OPAC then displays a link to the OverDrive search results. My consortium is in a situation where we would need Koha OPAC to search one OverDrive eBook collection if a certain library was searched by the OPAC, but search a different OverDrive collection if a different library was searched by the OPAC. Our OPAC can be found at <basinlibraries.org> Does anyone here know if it is possible for the OPAC to do what I'm describing here? TIA, Christopher Davis mr.cataloger(a)gmail.com (435) 621-2957

Salvete! So, it would be really cool to just do what Magnus and Kyle said and go look at patches. Kittens! Hooray for the unsung QA heroes. But, mebbe, just mebbe, you'd like an alternative. "Self" you might be thinking "I want to help, but I'd rather stick a rusty spoon in my eye than learn how to use git or a sandbox." Never fear. I assure you anyone can edit the wiki. :D If you're having trouble getting a login, email meh. My suggestion would be to go here: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_Users_Worldwide find your region. Look and see if your library is listed. Add it if it is not, and please update it if it needs it. There are plenty of other wiki chores to go round. Also, join errybody on IRC today. The gang's all here. Cheers, Brooke
