Problem with Barcode Generator
by akafortes 17 Sep '15

17 Sep '15

I have set the "autoBarcode" option in the "Cataloging preferences" to "incremental EAN-13 barcodes". In the corresponding UNIMARC subfield I'm using the "barcode.pl" Plugin. When I add an item, though, and I try to create a barcode, instead of a 13-digit number, I get a single number. So what I get for the barcode field is something like this: Item 1 Barcode=1 Item 2 Barcode=2 etc. Is there another setting I have to change in order t make it work correctly? -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Problem-with-Barcode-Generator-tp5852966.… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Announcing Donor Tracking Plugin for Koha
by Bob Ewart 17 Sep '15

17 Sep '15

This plugin is used to track donor contributions and contacts. Knowing what a donor has given to and what his/her interests are is a big help in asking for future donations. Income is transferred from an accounting program such as QuickBooks as a spreadsheet. The accounting customer number is set to the Koha card number. This keeps both databases in sync. You can review a donor's past giving and comments about past contacts before meeting with that donor. Afterword you should add any significant points covered to help in future contacts. This can be important when other people will be making the next contact. There is a flexible report generation feature which is used for 'data mining'. You can search by amount, date, account number, patron category, branch... or any combination thereof. More information is at Donor Tracking Wiki <https://github.com/bob-ewart/Koha-plugin-DonorApp/wiki> The plugin is available at Donor Tracking github <https://github.com/bob-ewart/Koha-plugin-DonorApp> -- Bob Ewart Stonewall National Museum & Archives Fort Lauderdale, FL

Wrong shortcuts in Koha menu "Cataloging"
by Michael Kuhn 16 Sep '15

16 Sep '15

Hi There are three shortcuts or hotkeys in the Koha staff client: * Alt + U = Check out * Alt + R = Check in * Alt + Q = Search the catalog As I understand these shortcuts should work all over the staff client, and mostly they do. In Koha 3.20 though when going to Koha menu "Cataloging" they don't work as expected. Here the mapping is: * Alt + U = Search the catalog * Alt + R = Cataloging search * Alt + Q = Check out Is this a bug or do I miss something? Kind regards, Michael

Re: [Koha] Koha Digest, Vol 119, Issue 23

Hi Pablo: While I agree that the 001 should be populated with a unique bibliographic control number, it's not the way that Koha is typically set up. In theory, it's configurable, but there are parts of Koha that expect the biblionumber to be in the 999$c field (e.g. MARC21slim2OPACResult.xsl). In fact we already have a control number on old records because they > come from a migration, and this numbers could overlap with biblionumber > (999$c). That's why bug 9921 is not useful for us.
