Dear Colleagues, Please excuse any cross posting. I am doing a presentation tomorrw on issues of open source software in libraries and I wanted to know how many of you consider Android (as in an Android powered smartphone) to be open source software. Why or why not? TIA, Christopher Davis mr.cataloger(a)gmail.com (435) 621-2957

We have one record in the catalogue that is missing a 942 $c. but I can't find it. I'm looking for a 942$c that is empty. If I could get the biblio number of the problem record, I could fix it. Upgrade 3.00.xx to 3.20
by Scott Owen 24 Sep '15

24 Sep '15

Is this a valid method to upgrade from 3.00.xx to 3.20 ?? Or have there been database changes that would kill this idea?? ********************************************************************************** I have upgraded from 3.00.xx ( do not remember which) to 3.4. The process was a bit contorted though, since it involved change of hardware. 1. Installed Debian on the new system, 2. installed Koha 3.4, (as if it was a new install), 3. "Restored" the sqldump from the old installation. 4. Started Koha. Koha script did the required things at first login. ***************************************************************************** or is apt-get update apt-get install koha-common still a valid option ??

Migrate all Koha data from old server to new server
by Greg Vickers 23 Sep '15

23 Sep '15

Hi all, We ae running Koha on a dodgy spare desktop that we scrounged up, now we have a nice shiny Dell server to run it on. What is the easiest method of transferring the data from the old server to the new server? (Using Koha 2.2.4 on both servers.) I'm guessing that all I have to do is install Koha on the new server (meet prerequisites etc) and move across the MySQL data to the new server. Am I missing something critical? Thanks, Greg
