Question about language of OPAC query
by 박병용 10 Oct '15

10 Oct '15

Dear all, I firstly installed the Koha 3.20.04.000 a few days ago. I cataloged some Korean books and searched it on OPAC in Korean language. But the result was incorrect. The keyword is correctly highlighted but the number of list item is incorrect. For example, the correct number of result record is 1 but the actual result of now is 4. If experienced similar problems, tell me some guide for me, please! Kind regards, P.S.) Override "Restricted Use" checkout
by Coehoorn, Joel 10 Oct '15

10 Oct '15

We are a collegiate library, where we have a Reference section with items that students are not allowed to check out. This is coded at our library by setting the Collection option for these items to a "Reference" collection we have defined, and additionally by setting the item as "Restricted". We would like to allow faculty members to check out these items. It seems like in the past librarians were able to override this, but that is not now the case. How can we either allow librarians to override the restriction, or define circulation rules that also look at shelving location or collection? Hi there It's a permissions thing. I'm sorry I cannot get to the settings at the moment but what I did was set circulation users to super librarian permission settings and then turned each one off until I hit the crucial one, then reset everything else accordingly. Start at the bottom. New Debian install - OPAC invisible
by Aparrish 08 Oct '15

08 Oct '15

Hey all, I've got a latest-ed Koha install on Debian Jessie on which the staff client is displaying properly in the web browser, but the OPAC address is displaying the Apache2 default web server page (It Works!). I followed (with some other help) these <http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Debian_Jessie_development_setup> directions. This is all I want - a test server accessible from the local machine. Currently configured to accept http://127.0.1.1:8080 as staff and http://127.0.1.1:80 as OPAC. I'm sure I'm doing something stupid, but I don't know quite what it is. I don't have a web error log for OPAC, will post code and .conf files as needed. I've gone through staff config as far as setting a library. -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/New-Debian-install-OPAC-invisible-tp58561… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

952$o subfield not displayed in OPAC
by dc12345 07 Oct '15

07 Oct '15

Hi everyone, I've recently set up a web server running Koha for a small library at a research institute, and I'm having issues with the OPAC in displaying the itemcallnumber field. I originally converted my holdings from an Excel file to .mrc format with MarcEdit and everything else imported perfectly. I am using LCC for my call numbers rather than Dewey, and I changed the DefaultClassificationSource to lcc, as well as the itemcallnumber to map to 050a. And I'm using the default framework in Koha 3.20.02. The weird thing is, when I go to edit an individual record as an admin, the full call number is there in the 952o subfield, just as it should be. It just comes out blank in the OPAC. If I then save the entry without editing it, it fixes the issue. I would just edit each book then, but I have 5144 total books to edit, so there's got to be another way to fix it. Here's an example of a MARC record as I originally imported it: =LDR 00303nam a2200109Ia 45e0 =008 150928s9999\\\\xx\\\\\\\\\\\\000\0\und\d =050 \\$aF1435.1 .C46 =100 \\$aRobin, Cynthia =245 \\$aEveryday Life Matters: Maya Farmers at Chan =260 \\$bUniversity Press of Florida =260 \\$c2013 =952 \\$aMARI$bMARI$p03403$yBKS I've also tried adding the 952$o subfield before I import it, but I get the same result. By the way, I know my 050 field should be split as 050$aF1435.1$b.C46, but I'm an archaeologist and not a librarian (dammit Jim!) and didn't realize this when I started this process. But I've also imported single books this way and played around with formatting a lot, with the same results. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Other than this hiccup, which is surely my fault, I've been very impressed with Koha! Thanks! AllowHoldsDateInFuture
by Christopher Davis 07 Oct '15

07 Oct '15

Dear Colleagues, I was reading the Koha manual on the system preference named "AllowHoldDateInFuture" and it was too vague for me. Is the "AllowHoldDateInFuture" for patrons who want to place a "dormant" hold on a title which hold will "activate" on a certain date? Will any of you please explain this to me? Thank you, Christopher Davis mr.cataloger(a)gmail.com (435) 621-2957

Report help

This must be simple to fix but I'm not fluent enough in Koha-speak to crack the problem. Would anyone be able to help amend this SQL report, so that the results show the title, author and call number for each entry, instead of a hyperlinked biblionumber? All suggestions gratefully received!
