Hi!
Even I read Koha manual <
http://translate.koha-community.org/manual/master/en/catadmin.html#marcbibfr...
(2.4.1.4. Edit Framework Subfields > Advanced constraint values > Visibility) and bug #9894, but it isn't clear to me what a "flagged" subfield means.
No one knows. It's been there even before programming languages existed.
Well... It's not in our production 3.8.24, so it's fairly recent. As far as I can tell it was introduced in 3.12 (which I've never played with -- and our cataloguers never even mentioned it during our evaluation of 3.20) so somebody should remember it? Best -- Paul

The 'hidden' field has been around for a while, it is a free-text field in your Koha ( http://manual.koha-community.org/3.6/en/catadmin.html#marcbibframeworks). In 3.12 just happened that we made it more user-friendly. So instead of writing a weird meaningless number we translated the mapping into what you see in 3.12+. Regards Tomas
I just LOVE the change from the numbers to the term "hidden" in the framework--it's so much clearer to me! Thank you to the coders who made that possible! A cataloger myself, I've never understood what the "flagged" option in Koha was supposed to mean--I've never been able to relate it to any option in any other ILS software. I always assumed it was something that the coders understood...:):) Cheerio! --h2 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Heather Hernandez Technical Services Librarian San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park Research Center 415-561-7032, heather_hernandez@nps.gov http://www.nps.gov/safr/learn/historyculture/museum-collections.htm "The sailor does not pray for wind, he learns to sail."--Gustaf Lindborg On Wed, Sep 2, 2015 at 1:01 PM, Tomas Cohen Arazi <tomascohen@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi All I think only one person knows what it was supposed to be for, and that is "He who shall not be named, lest he turn up and try and trademark something" As far as I can tell from scanning the code, we don't use it anywhere else. IE you can set it, but it does nothing. Maybe it was supposed to make that field highlighted in the cataloguing interface or something.
