Fw: can i integrate two koha installation in master slave configuration
by rekhasaraswat 17 Nov '09

17 Nov '09

What i need is to have a central database and this is required to be updated by more than one client. Right now i m having a single administrator, who is able to update the catalog using KOHA. I want to create multiple administrator accounts for updating the KOHA catalog, working at different locations in my network or out of network. How can i do the required job for updating it from multiple koha clients. ----- Original Message ----- From: nitesh rijal To: rekhasaraswat Sent: Tuesday, November 17, 2009 5:34 PM Subject: Re: [Koha] can i integrate two koha installation in master slave configuration please be more clear..... 2009/11/17 rekhasaraswat <rekhasaraswat(a)cdacnoida.in> hi, i need to update the koha catalog from multiple locations in my network. for that purpose would it be possible to create a master slave configuration of two koha installaions _______________________________________________ Koha mailing list Koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha -- Nitesh Rijal BE IT email: rijal.it(a)gmail.com url: http://niteshrijal.com.np facebook: http://facebook.com/openrijal twitter: http://twitter.com/openrijal +9779841458173

Re: [Koha] Fines Calculation not working

Crontab settings are necessary for fine calculation and other related task scheduling. To make Koha cronjobs functional, follow the steps, Open a terminal and try the commands, localhost:~# su localhost:~# cd /usr/share/koha/bin/cronjobs localhost:~# crontab -u root crontab.example localhost:~# crontab -u username crontab.example Above mentioned steps should be try after the Koha installation. localhost:~# crontab -e change the following values there, # ENVIRONMENT: PERL5LIB=/usr/share/koha/lib KOHA_CONF=/etc/koha/koha-conf.xml # Some additional variables to save you typing KOHA_CRON_PATH = /usr/share/koha/bin/cronjobs Remember to save the file. Re: [Koha] Barcode nightmare
by Zeno Tajoli 17 Nov '09

Dear Seth Mayo, reading your problems on barcode, I think you need to personalize the code about barcode reading/filtering/searching. In fact, if you don't have perl skills in house, you need to hire someone. Koha as you can download it, is not enough. Rebuild Zebra and production mode -- trapped fatal error
by Chadwick, John, DCA 16 Nov '09

16 Nov '09

First, I have seen the production mode - trapped fatal error message during some testing. We are now working on the production server. The error, at least when I have seen it, is generated when you try to get opac details for a biblionumber that doesn't exist. This has been resolved for us when we load records and rebuild the zebra indexes. Which brings me to a second thing I would like to share. I have an easy shell script I created to facilitate the process with no errors. We will be hosting a second Koha install which is why we are doing some custom locations for the file directories rather than the default directories. #!/bin/bash export PERL5LIB=/koha/bbmkoha/lib/ perl /koha/bbmkoha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -b -r -v John +----------------------------------------------------------------------- -----+ John Chadwick, Ed.D.
