items default to home branch
by Rachel Hollis 19 Nov '09

19 Nov '09

Greetings colleagues, we have two campus locations implementing on a server that was an image of our production server; both servers are physically located on our campus. When I added the staff patron accounts, I set their respective home branches. However when they are logged in and adding items, their item's locations default to our campus location. Setting the library, even though it appears set already, doesn't seem to make a difference. What needs to change so that when staff members login, their items default to their home branch locations? We are Koha version: 3.01.00.001 AutoLocation is set to OFF Independent Braches is set to OFF SingleBranchMode is set to OFF Rachel Hollis, librarian Stevens-Henager College, Boise Idaho Campus ________________________________ This message is for the designated recipient only and may contain privileged, proprietary, or otherwise private information. by Christopher Hyde 19 Nov '09

19 Nov '09

East Brunswick Library(NJ) and Princeton Public Library(NJ) have worked together to develop a Ubuntu Linux/Firefox Kiosk, utilizing the Brooklyn Museum devoleped OpenKiosk extension. We has directions so others may customise and use it. We have posted this documentation to the Koha Wiki here: http://wiki.koha.org/doku.php?id=ubuntu_9.04_based_opac_kiosk Of specific note to Koha users is the fact that the Reset Button to give the user the option of securely logging out before the session resets. Otherwise, clicking the back button after a user has logged out will actually allow people to access the previously logged in users session/information!

by nitesh rijal 19 Nov '09

19 Nov '09

Hello all. I wanted to add a new search field in KOHA default search to find the records according to their biblionumber. I have seen that arguments can be passed to the details.pl to show record of a particular biblionumber through the browser query string. I just wanted to add a search box that accepts biblionumber and sends the user to the particular details page of respective biblionumber.....what file should I write them on??? Please Help.... -- Nitesh Rijal BE IT email: rijal.it(a)gmail.com url: http://niteshrijal.com.np facebook: http://facebook.com/openrijal twitter: http://twitter.com/openrijal +9779841458173

Can't create new (empty) Biblio in Koha 2.2.9
by Trevor Namondwe 19 Nov '09

19 Nov '09

Hi, I have been using Koha 2.2.9 for windows since last year. Suddenly, I can't create a new biblio because when I click on "add bibliographic record and go to items" I find that the new record has been added to the last record I created. For example if the title for the previous title is "energy in context" and the new title is "scientific eye" then the new record has a title "energy in context|scientific eye" and the Biblio number is for "energy in context". When I tried to edit the item, I find that the record has repeated fields e.g. two 245 fields. All the new information is added to the existing record. I hope I am making sense. If not I will be glad to elaborate or even add a screen shot. Please help me. Trevor _________________________________________________________________ Windows 7: Simplify what you do everyday. Re: [Koha] urgent reply

Hello Seema If you are in the OPAC interface when changing member details, the change will NOT be made in Koha. You must be in the STAFF interface to make permanent changes. All that happens when changing details in the OPAC is that an email is sent to the staff, to request that staff approve and make the change in the borrower record. That is how it is supposed to work, so that borrowers with overdue books cannot change their address to a fake to avoid returning materials. Hope that helps Agnes seema varshney wrote: > thnks 4 reply.. > yes we r using first time koha > > we properl;y installed koha requirements.. we eneter into intranet as > well as opac interface.... > > in intranet interface when we try to add member ( form is displayed-we > fill all the fields as mentioned but after submitting we obtained > page displayed later half in the mail > > > > Koha <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/mainpage.pl> Acquisitions > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/loadmodules.pl?module=acquisitions> > Catalogue > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/loadmodules.pl?module=search&type=intranet> > Circulation <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/circ/circulation.pl> Members > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/members/members-home.pl> Authorities > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/authorities/authorities-home.pl> Reports > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/reports-home.pl> Parameters > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/admin-home.pl> About > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/about.pl> Help > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/help.pl> > > Logged in as: koha [Log Out > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/mainpage.pl?logout.x=1>] > > > Membership record > > (, ) > Card number: > Postal Address: , > Home Address: , > Phone home: > Phone daytime: > Fax: > E-mail: > Text messaging: > Membership Number: > Membership Category: > Joined: , > Expires: > Joining branch: > DoB: > Sex: > Contact: > Phone: > Relationship: > Notes: > Guarantees: > Circulation note: > OPAC login : (no password) > Modify > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/members/memberentry.pl?borrowernumber=0> > Delete <javascript:confirm_deletion()> Issue books > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/circ/circulation.pl?findborrower=> > Change Password > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/members/member-password.pl?member=0> > > Add Child > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/members/jmemberentry.pl?type=Add&bornum=> > Modify User Flags > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/members/member-flags.pl?member=0> Print > Page > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/members/moremember.pl?bornum=&print=page> > Print Slip > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/members/moremember.pl?bornum=&print=slip> > > > Fines & charges > > Total due 0.00 > View Account <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/boraccount.pl?bornum=0>Pay > Fines <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/pay.pl?bornum=0> > > > Items requested > > None > Reading Record <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/readingrec.pl?bornum=0> > > > Items currently on issue > > None > > > Home <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/mainpage.pl> || Catalogue > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/loadmodules.pl?module=search&type=intranet> > || Members <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/members/members-home.pl> || > Acquisitions > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/loadmodules.pl?module=acquisitions> || > Circulation <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/circ/circulation.pl> || > Reports <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/reports-home.pl> || Parameters > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/admin-home.pl> || About > <http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/about.pl> || Help > > > --- On *Wed, 11/18/09, Agnes Rivers-Moore /<arm(a)hanover.ca>/* wrote: > > > From: Agnes Rivers-Moore <arm(a)hanover.ca> > Subject: Re: [Koha] urgent reply > To: "seema varshney" <seema_varsh(a)yahoo.co.in> > Cc: koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz > Date: Wednesday, November 18, 2009, 1:47 AM > > Please describe exact steps you are using for each process. > Also, when did this last work for you - or is this the first time > you have tried this? > > seema varshney wrote: > > > > > > friends we require help of u'rs in KOHA 2.2.9 Open library > system accessing > > 1. Setting up our KOHA catalog
by Eli Anthony 18 Nov '09

18 Nov '09

Here is our OPAC site... http://taylor.kohalibrary.com/ Here is what we added to the opacheader preference in the system preferences: <div style="float:left;"><a href="http://taylor.kohalibrary.com/"><img border="0" src="http://...PATH-OF-IMAGE-FILE.../imagefile.gif"></a></div><h1 style="color:#729ACF;font-size:26px;">Taylor County Public Library</h1> As far as where the image file is stored, it doesn't really matter. All you have to do is have it someplace where it won't get deleted, and then put it's url in the code where it says image path above. We have our image file stored on our library web site server. Thanks, Eli Anthony Taylor County Public Library
