Overdue Email Format
by nitesh rijal 24 Nov '09

24 Nov '09

Hello all. I want to set up a function to send emails to all the overdue patrons. I guess the feature is already done by the perl scripts in the cronjobs folder. The main thing I wanted to do was to change the email template. I could not find which file to edit for this. Is there an admin option to do this? Any file including the code would also help. Please Help. Thank you. -- Nitesh Rijal BE IT email: rijal.it(a)gmail.com url: http://niteshrijal.com.np facebook: http://facebook.com/openrijal twitter: http://twitter.com/openrijal +9779841458173

Z39.50 LOC looks to local host?
by Corie Julius 23 Nov '09

23 Nov '09

Hi everyone, we just set up a Koha 3.00.02 server on Ubuntu 9.10 in our little school library using this tutorial ( http://www.blazingmoon.org/guides/k3-on-u810-1.html) and have it working pretty well so far. One snag we haven't been able to figure out is using the cataloging feature with LOC's Z39.50. When we click the "z39.50 Search" button a pop up window appears that says "Z39.50 Search Points" at the top and has a few fields to fill out with search terms like "Title:" and "ISBN:" and a few "Search targets" at the bottom, of which the LOC target is checked. When we search anything, however, the search fails and we can tell from the browser pop up window that the browser is looking at the local host (127.0.1.1). After a short while a message appears that says: "Connection failed to z3950.loc.gov" Can anyone tell us what we need to do or point us to a page that can help us to connect to z3950.loc.gov? Thanks in advance, -Corie

LDAP Authentication problem
by brunomarques＠dri.cefetmg.br 23 Nov '09

23 Nov '09

Hello, I've been trying to make a Koha installation integrated with my openLDAP server, the installation went fine but I've come across 2 problems against the LDAP authentication, using password comparison I can't authenticate if the password is using anything other than CLEAR (in my case I need to use passwords using CRYPT), trying to use binding authentication every user I try to use can't connect, using tshark to monitor the connections on my koha server I can see that my request to bind is successful but I always receive "LDAP compareResponse(3) insufficientAccessRights" message. The method I used to configured is the one described in http://wiki.koha.org/doku.php?id=en:development:ldap&s[]=ldap.

Zebra indexing question
by Chadwick, John, DCA 21 Nov '09

21 Nov '09

I am noticing some errors in the koha-zebradaemon-output.log file. When new records are added it takes a bit longer to index than we think they should. Running rebuild zebra is often faster. The log file shows the following: 14:31:44-18/11 zebrasrv(55) [warn] Failed to open /var/lib/bbmkoha/zebradb/biblios/register/reci-0.mf [Permission denied] 14:31:44-18/11 zebrasrv(55) [fatal] mf_write: reci error (1) 14:31:44-18/11 zebrasrv(55) [fatal] write commit block 14:31:44-18/11 zebrasrv(55) [warn] zebra_commit: failed Zebra ends up indexing and search works, but I am concerned about the errors. Any ideas? Thanks, John +----------------------------------------------------------------------- -----+ John Chadwick, Ed.D.
