I am helping a small library to implement Koha here in London. I am looking for recommendations for simple handheld scanners that integrate easily with Koha's web interface approach. -Doug-

Hello / marc import problem
by Joel Cornuz 20 Nov '09

20 Nov '09

Hi there, I am helping a school setting up Koha for their 6000 books library. We are nearing the stage of production with installation, labels, importation, daily management etc under control, thanks to Koha. So KUDOS :) The last thing we need is to import records from Bookwhere (a Z ). I can stage a batch of records, the records appear in the managing batch as expected but no matter what, clicking on "import into catalogue" will give me a 0 number of records added, updated, ignored and the same for items. Obviously, I don't find my records in the catalogue. I don't get any error message in koha_error-log, so I wonder if I am missing something obvious? btw, my koha version is 3.00.04. Thanks for any help. Take care, Joel

Barbara, In 3.0 there is not, but there is a patch that adds this to 3.2. It is not related with browser. We have the same problem but didn't have time to cope with it properly, so we just rebuld zebra index from time to time with -r option. (rebuld_zebra.pl -b -r). This is not very satisfactory solution because our database is arround 300.000 recods so it takes some time and during that time the catalog search is not available. We do this during the night. During the day we run 'rebuld_zebra.pl -b -z' every 4 minutes insted of running zebraque deamon, as recommended. Does anybody have the same problem and the proper solution? I want to set up a function to send emails to all the overdue patrons. I guess the feature is already done by the perl scripts in the cronjobs folder. The main thing I wanted to do was to change the email template. I could not find which file to edit for this. Is there an admin option to do this? Any file including the code would also help. Label question
by Chris Morrison 20 Nov '09

20 Nov '09

I'm trying to print barcode labels and have a funny little problem: I can't get Koha to generate any bibliographic information on my label--just barcodes with the number. I even set the layout type to "biblio only" and just got a blank page! Thoughts? Thanks, Chris Morrison
