3.0.5 release Date
by LAURENT Henri-Damien 30 Nov '09

30 Nov '09

Hi I have been late on my schedule. But I want to announce that 3.0.5 should be packaged released by the end of the week. I want to add and test Frederic Démians' patches on SIP and also ensure that translation are really uptodate and accurate. For the impatient, code and present day translations without those latest patches is available on git.koha.org/koha on branch 3.0.x. -- Henri-Damien LAURENT Release Maintainer

Koha Items Issue
by Koller Wolfgang 30 Nov '09

30 Nov '09

Dear Mailing List! I'm currently setting up Koha as a replacement for ISIS here at NHM-Vienna. Everything is working fine so far, Koha is up an running, UTF-8 support works, searching works, etc. Now I only got a two problems with Items: - Entries with more than one Item always return a 404 Error in the OPAC-Interface. The koha-opac-error.log file states a realloc() error in perl (backtrace includes the HTML::Template::Pro module). - When I try to manually add a new Item for an Entry, all the drop downs like "Withdrawn Status" etc. are empty. I guess they should contain some default values shouldn't they? I would be very graceful for any help, as I already tried to install different HTML::Template::Pro versions, but nothing helped! If you need any more info - please let me know! cannot create Label layout or templates
by Marty 30 Nov '09

30 Nov '09

I was hoping to try out the labels in Koha 3 (we have been depending on kbarcode in 2.2 for labels) but try as I may, I cannot save any layout or template. >From the documentation I figured I should be able to choose a layout. (http://koha.org/documentation/manual/3.2/tools/label-creator) However, I only get a box with a header that says "Active Settings", under which appear: Layout: No Layout Specified: Select a Label Layout Template: No Template Specified: Select a Label Template Batch: Create a new batch (All text after : appears in red) I cannot do anything with this, if I try to create a new layout or template it will not save anything. And if I click on Select a label Layout, nothing happens either. A google search did not find any similar problems. Logs are rather empty. Any hints are welcome! I am running koha 3.00.04.019 on Linux Debian Marty __________________________________________________________________ Looking for the perfect gift? Stuck with mailing overdue notice
by nitesh rijal 29 Nov '09

29 Nov '09

Hello all I am using KOHA 3.0.3 with zebra server. I have sendmail and it sends mail from command line. I have set up a new patron with an email address and also made a lot of overdue for that patron. The fines.pl file calculates the fine very well. But when it comes to mailing the patron about the overdue then I'm stuck. I have set up the triggers and the rules for mailing as well. I have changed the /usr/share/koha/bin/cronjobs/crontab.example accordingly. This is what I did to change the crontab.example file. # crontab -u root crontab.example # crontab -u kohaadmin crontab.example # crontab -e Now I edited the file, it uses nano editor to edit the crontab entries. To save them I pressed Crtl+O and gave the path to save as /usr/share/koha/bin/cronjobs/crontab.example To exit the crontab I pressed Ctrl+X. To list the entries I used # crontab -l and it listed all my entries fine. Now I waited for the cron to run, but it didnot send the mail while it accumulated the fine. Both the fine and mail scripts are in the same crontab. So I ran the overdue_message.pl and process_message_queue.pl manually. They showed me no error neither they send the mails. What am I supposed to do now ???? I'm pretty much stucked. Please Help. Contents of koha-zebra-daemon in /etc/init.d (Debian)
by Marty 27 Nov '09

27 Nov '09

Can somebody please send me contents of koha-zebra-daemon in /etc/init.d I have a standard koha installation, on Debian, with koha-zebra-ctl.sh in /usr/share/koha/bin For some reason I still have not been able to start the zebra server except manually and that just won't do. I have followed all the instructions, but I think something is wrong with the koha-zebra-daemon file. I cannot start the zebra server by doing /etc/init.d/koha-zebra-daemon start. Please? Koha Twitter Account
by Nicole Engard 26 Nov '09

26 Nov '09

It appears as if the Koha RSS Feed I set up to feed the Koha ILS Twitter Feed has quit: http://twitter.com/kohails - the last update was on the 26th of Oct. I'll see what I can do - if you have a suggestion I'm up for it :) Nicole
