Stopwords and Zebra
by Stacy Pober 02 Dec '09

02 Dec '09

We are using Koha version 3.01.00.037 with LibLime Enterprise Koha build: 4.0000010. We would like to use stopwords for our catalog searching. When I inquired to LibLime about this function, I was told: "With Zebra providing the search functionality, removing these words before submitting the query will have no performance benefit, and will only harm the relevance ranking." and later, "The Zebra indexing provides the search functionality and so should not be turned off. Given that, the stopwords are ignored; there is no way to change this." However, someone using the open source version of Koha told me that there was a way to implement a stopword list with the Zebra indexing. How is it done? -- Stacy Pober Information Alchemist Manhattan College Library Riverdale, NY 10471 stacy.pober(a)manhattan.edu

Prevent Staff Login?
by Marcel de Rooy 02 Dec '09

02 Dec '09

Hi, Is it possible in Koha 3 to prevent staff users to login to the staff client? Something just like setting OpacMaintenance to 1 in order to prevent opac access. Thanks, Marcel

Re: [Koha] Migrating, analyticals and MARC frameworks
by Patrick - Biblioteca Casa Balthasar 02 Dec '09

No problem Elaine, I really couldn't say if you've missed something, as far as I can remember this worked out of the box for us (3.0.2). One thing I just noticed, and that may explain your problem, is that this does work out of the box in the OPAC client, but it is not displayed in the detail view of the staff client. I believe you'd have to customize your xslt templates to make this display in the staff. Also, the biblio number to use is the biblio number internal to Koha, that is displayed in the URL in the biblio detail view or in the MARC view from the staff client after 'MARC biblio :'. Below is the MARC from a couple of biblios, one a parent (which in turn has it's own parent) and one of it's child biblios: PS. Don't forget to reply to the whole list. OPAC View problems

Hi folks, I have serious problems with OPAC items display. I think it might be a problem with opac-details.tmpl, but am not sure what to do. More mystery with Diacritics
by Chadwick, John, DCA 02 Dec '09

02 Dec '09

Okay, getting closer, but still no luck. In the default word-phrase-utf.chr file the mappings we need to get the Spanish diacritics to work are there. The equivalents are not there. For example: equivalent Ń is not defined. When I try to add it in I get all sorts of error messages when I try to rebuild the zebra index. If I can overcome the issue with the missing equivalents this may solve our problems. Thanks, John +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ John Chadwick, Ed.D. by Demas, Christopher D 01 Dec '09

01 Dec '09

Hi all - I'm installing koha 3.00.04 on a fresh debian lenny (5.0.3) machine and following the instructions in the file "INSTALL.debian-lenny". I get to section 4 and run the command $ sudo a2ensite koha and get the following error ERROR: Site koha does not exist! I've followed all the instructions (I think) but I can't figure out what I did wrong. Am I doing anything wrong? Thank You. *********************************** Chris Demas, Librarian Wayne G.
