Re: [Koha] Curious searching problem with zebra

Chopping and off the beginning would mean you couldn't search for any phrase or collection of words that starts with and. Editing the ccl.properties file and changing buildquery is a much more robust solution and doesn't actually result in reduced functionality. I would accept a patch for that, if anyone wants to send one, otherwise ill try to work on one next week. I don't think one that drops words out that the user is trying to search is one that would be accepted, at least not into 3.4. I can't speak for chris nighswonger the 3.2 maintainer, only myself as 3.4. If you want to work through making a patch you can find me, or others who can help you on irc (irc.katipo.co.nz #koha) Chris RM for 3.4 and totally over xmas shopping Bob Ewart <bob-ewart(a)bobsown.com> wrote: >Ona simple query, where you don't have ccl=, you could just chop >'and ' off the beginning and ' and' off the end of the query. > >I thought I could do it after line 1032 in Search.pm, but that didn't >seem to work. > >Where does the debug output go? Curious searching problem with zebra
by Bob Ewart 17 Dec '10

17 Dec '10

I'm running koha 3.02.01 on a 64-bit openSUSE 11.3 system with zebra. I have 3 biblios for 'And the band played on', a book, a tape and a DVD. When I search for 'and the band played on', it finds nothing. When I search for 'the band played on', it finds all three. I've done a complete rebuild of the zebra index. Any ideas? -- Bob

In MarcEdit there is a Delimited Text Translator. This can be used to do what you are asking. You just need to define how the data is translated. Fwd: Numerically sorting a new Zebra Index
by Senthil Anand 17 Dec '10

17 Dec '10

---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Senthil Anand <ssenthilanand(a)gmail.com> Date: 16 December 2010 19:51 Subject: Numerically sorting a new Zebra Index To: koha-devel(a)lists.koha-community.org Hello, Running Koha 3.06 on Centos 5.5. I want to add a new item attribute, canumber to the Zebra Index. It should be visible on the staff client. All values are numbers ranging from 1 to around 15000000. I have done the following steps: 1. In bib1.att att 8032 canumber 2. In the marc21 record.abs melm 952$z canumber, canumber:n, item 3. In ccl.properties canumber 1=8032 Zebra has been reindexed. I want to use the canumber in place of acq-date in the Bulk label barcode generation. In label-item-search.pl under intranet/cgi-bin/labels . I am performing a search using the following limits : "canumber,ge="<textbox data> and "canumber,le="<textbox data>. The search actually works and returns results but the results seem to be sorted as text. ie searching beween 1000 and 1010 returns items with canumber 1000000 etc. As a test I changed the attribute of itemnotes in items table from varchar to int(11) in a test machine and reran the index. Still not getting proper numeric sorting. The Zebra docs mention that lexicographic sorting is default and numeric sorting has to be enabled. As I understood it is defined in the record.abs. How can I change the mappings in record.abs to get numerically sorted results ? Is the query I am using in label-item-search.pl correct ? Regards, Senthil

Zebra Database User and Password
by tzabal 17 Dec '10

17 Dec '10

Hello, I have a question about the Zebra database user and password that we have to provide when we run the Koha installer (Makefile.PL). Koha installer asks for the name of the user of Zebra Database and his password. In this step, we have to specify a user and password that we entered before? Because i don't remember providing this details when i installed Zebra using the apt-get-debian-lenny.sh shell script. Also, can you tell me where and how i can view the contents of the Zebra Database? Thank you in advance, tzabal -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Zebra-Database-User-and-Password-tp329886… Sent from the Koha - Discuss mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
