008 fixed fields for non-book materials and 007
Hi, When cataloging a non book item and trying to edit the fixed fields the only information in the 008 is for books. How do you change the plugin information to reflect other material information. i.e. Position 26 file type for CD-ROM (and in our system VIDEO GAMES). In the 008 editing mode it does come up as a 'derived value'. Derived from what? How does it know it is a G for game and not a I for interactive multimedia, or J for online service, etc. __________________________ Cecil Hillyard http://library.washoecounty.us Washoe County Library Technical Services 4001 S. What version of Koha are you using? I believe that this issue has been resolved by a few patches (or I could be wrong). Nicole 2010/12/15 Hillyard, Cecil <CHillyard@washoecounty.us>:

Unfortunately, its still an outstanding bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=2358 You might want to comment on that bug, and change the priority if you think it needs it. Also, finding a developer to fix it would be great too ;) Chris
Greetings, the 007 biblio framework for visual materials (DVDs & VHS) and non-print items seems to have the same issue as the 008. Currently there is access to only t (Text ) and not a (Map), c (Electronic resource), d (Globe), f (Tactile material), g (Projected graphic), h (Microform), k (Non-projected graphic), m (Motion picture), o (Kit), q (Notated music), r (Remote-sensing image), s (Sound recording), v (Videorecording) and z (Unspecified). MARC Frameworks subfields point to a Plugin "marc21_field_007.pl". Does this 007.pl need to be edited so that the full range of fixed field options is available? Perhaps it is useful to say that records with non-text coding import just fine and that copy/paste seems to work between records but editing is not possible. Hi Rachel You might like to update the bug report with this information. That way people will hopefully fix both at once. Chris
