This may seem like a silly question, is possible to use both? Holds Problem in OPAC
by Nitesh Rijal 14 Dec '10

14 Dec '10

Hello all. I have installed koha 3.2.1 in Ubuntu 10.04. I have problems while placing hold. Whenever I try to place hold from OPAC, I get an error saying: Software error: > > Can't use an undefined value as a HASH reference at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Reserves.pm line 199. > > I checked the line, I found inline assignment to hash. I split the assignment so that declaring and assignment are done in 2 different lines, but still the error is same. What may be the problem? Moreover, while try to place hold on the same item through Staff Client says "No Items Available to Hold" while there already is items available. This seems to be a bug. Please help me. Re: [Koha] New Arrivals display in OpacMainUserBlock?

We use a widget provided to us by DearReader.com which allows us to produce lists of books by isbn. Their service provides book jackets and descriptions that connect to koha. We have to update it manually each week, but it takes 5 minutes to do. RFC Meetings
by M. Brooke Helman 13 Dec '10

13 Dec '10

Salvete! As promised, it is Mondayish, and here is the wikipage for RFC Meetings. http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/RFC_Meetings "Well, gorsh Brooke, there's a lot of blank spaces on that thar page." you offer. Why yes, yes there are. That, gentle reader, is where you come in. Haven't you always wanted to chair an IRC meeting on a topic that is near and dear to your heart? Of course you have. In especial if you've the knowledge and you've wondered how to contribute but were too shy to offer. The dates I filled in were suggestions, but I wanted to drive home that if we really want to have all of these meetings, it's going to take us until January's end, just about. So the faster folks volunteer, the more like these are to happen. I've pointed the finger at folks I think might possibly help us out and Chair, but who knows? So go on! How hard can it be? Cheers, Brooke

Fwd: [Web4lib] Request to participate in 2010 Library Technology Guides automation survey
by Nicole Engard 10 Dec '10

10 Dec '10

---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Breeding, Marshall <marshall.breeding(a)vanderbilt.edu> Date: Thu, Dec 9, 2010 at 12:17 PM Subject: [Web4lib] Request to participate in 2010 Library Technology Guides automation survey To: "web4lib(a)webjunction.org" <web4lib(a)webjunction.org> Please respond to the 2010 library automation perceptions survey. This page describes how to participate: http://www.librarytechnology.org/blog.pl?ThreadID=184&BlogID=1 More details: For the last three years I have conducted a survey and written a report on the perceptions that libraries form of the quality of the core automation products they use and their satisfaction with the service they receive. Results from previous editions: http://www.librarytechnology.org/perceptions2009.pl http://www.librarytechnology.org/perceptions2008.pl http://www.librarytechnology.org/perceptions2007.pl I have begun to collect data for the 2010 edition of the survey. This is an opportunity for libraries to register their impressions of the ILS product they use, its vendor, and the quality of support delivered. Is support getting better or worse? The survey also probes at considerations for migrating to new systems and the level of interest in open source ILS. While the numeric rating scales support the statistical results of the study, it's the comments offered that provide the most insight into the current state of library automation satisfaction. Please help your fellow libraries who might be in the process of evaluating library automation options by responding to the survey. Any information regarding vendor performance and product quality can be helpful when making strategic decisions regarding automation alternatives. A large number of responses strengthen the impact of the survey and the subsequent report. If you have responded to previous editions of the survey, please give your responses again this year. It's very helpful to understand whether things are getting better or worse. As with the previous versions of the survey, only one response per library is allowed. While all the individuals that work in a library may have their own opinions, please respond to the extent that you can from the general experiences of your library. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the survey.
