The deletedbiblio, deletedbiblioitems and deleteditems tables are for materials that have been deleted from your catalog. This provides a failsafe recovery option, in case the deletion was not correct. If you're confident you don't need any of the materials in those tables, you can truncate them to clear up space. It's much like emptying the trash on many desktop systems. OpacSuppression is determined by the 942$n MARC subfield. It is not mapped to the database, so you'll need to query and parse the MARC record in order to get a list of all items that are suppressed from OPAC view. -Ian 2010/12/3 Altaf Mahmud <altaf.mahmud(a)gmail.com> Actually, our library never used this feature: OpacSuppression, that is > always set as 'Don't hide'. As well, Choose "ZEBRA" indexing. You have to configure this. I have chosen Zebra because my system is a production system, and our Library has a a big catalog. You may choose "NoZebra", if you are doing dev-testing OR your catalog is small. Adding one Catalog and running Zebra: [Must be KOHA user] o Add a new record to Koha by searching Library of Congress o su koha o perl -I /usr/share/koha/lib /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -a -b –r Option a: Authority Indexing Option b: Biblios Indexing Option r: Reseting the indexing from start Searching Koha for a record: If you did rebuild_zebra.pl and searched Koha for the record you added and you get 0 results. You need to look at a few things. - Making sure that your zebra server and zebraqueue daemon are running: - Replace ${KOHA_USER} with your koha user. In my case koha o sudo -u ${KOHA_USER} zebrasrv -f /etc/koha/koha-conf.xml o sudo -u ${KOHA_USER} ${SCRIPT_DIR}/zebraqueue_daemon.pl - Ensure that ownership is set to koha. problems decompressing file koha-3.00.04_fixed.tar.gz

Hello, I'm having trouble decompressing the file downloaded from http://download.koha-community.org/koha-3.00.04_fixed.tar.gz. I get an error message saying there's not enough disk space for the files, and this is NOT true, I have a couple of Gigabytes (and that is for sure, I have no doubt about this) and the message says I have 200 MB, 300 MB, even 0 Bytes! Every time I try decompressing it gives me a different number (a false one), and I have no idea why this happens. Could it be that the file is corrupt? I doubt it though, cause a professor gave me the link to download it so I guess he didn't have problems with it. Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you all

I am looking at this report in the report library: SELECT DATE(datetime) AS date, substring(itemcallnumber,1,1) AS 'Call# range', count(*) AS count FROM statistics LEFT JOIN items USING (itemnumber) WHERE statistics.type IN ('issue', 'renew') AND YEAR(datetime) = 2010 GROUP BY DATE(datetime), substring(itemcallnumber,1,1) And I'm wondering if anyone knows how I could change that substring bit to show me everything before the first space. For example I want F but I also want JFIC - basically I want to lump it together using the first bit of the call number - the bit before the space. Thanks in advance, Nicole

Koha cart in v. 3.2

Hello, I just want to confirm that when using the cart feature in Koha v. 3.03.00.004 (we just upgraded today), it is NOT possible to e-mail the contents of the cart unless one is logged in? The email feature did not work for 3.02 either. Is this intentional, or a bug? I did not see any login caveats in the 3.2 documentation for the cart feature. I have disabled the login feature since I am sure it would annoy my users to have to login every time they search the catalog. Thanks, Amy Schuler
