slow koha on Safari

I am migrating book records via z39.50 searches and am finding it very slow going. Seems like I read somewhere in the various manuals, etc., that Koha ran slowly on Safari. Has anyone else had this experience? Or is it probably just my network. Shelley

upgraded from 3.0 to 3.2 but unable to open

I upgraded 3.0 to 3.2 at the end it gave 13 files permission deneyed could any one tell me what steps should follow and how to check whether it is upgrade successful or not thank you -- ---------------------------- Y.Yatheesh babu Librarian

Printing Slip Issues

Hi all, I got the following from the Arcadia library and I'm really stuck on how to help them. If anyone else has any suggestions can you share them with us all? "We are able to print checkout slips/receipts on the 3 check out stations from IE only using the Generic/Text driver. We can't print from FF or Chrome on these stations using the Epson U200 driver. On the check-in station we can get the Epson T220 driver to work with FF for the hold slips/receipts, but the slips are too long and we aren't able to capture all of the holds consistently--not sure if that is a Koha or FF issue. The receipts are still form feeding twice the length of the receipt than we need or want. What are other libraries using as receipt printers / drivers? This is still an active issue for us. We would like there to be some consistency between the browsers in use on the 4 circ stations. What we have now is just a band aid of sorts because we needed to print something for the patrons." Label creator error

Since upgrading to 3.2, the Label Creator tool is not functioning. All my layouts, templates and batches are gone and everything I click on returns an error. When I click on manage label batches I get this error: Undefined subroutine &main::get_active_layout called at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/labels/label-manager.pl line 51. Please help. First thing I would try is printing from notepad, once you get that behaving right (to the slip printers ... using the proper drivers) next thing would be opening a file in your browser and tweaking the settings for margins etc until that prints right. Once you can print nicely from your browser the only thing you might want to do is add or remove some <p> tags in the slip templates so they print out right. Koha as a Virtual Machine on ESXi - Failed to open disk scsi0:0: Unsupported or invalid disk type 7

We have Koha 3.0.4 running at our school and I thought I could play with 3.2 on our brand new virtual host. Here is what I did: Downloaded the VM from http://kylehall.info/index.php/projects/koha/koha-virtual-appliance/ ESXi 4.1 is running and the files are uploaded to the datastore. .vmx is added to the Inventory But when I start the VM I'm getting the following error: Module DevicePowerOn power on failed. Unable to create virtual SCSI device for scsi0:0, '/vmfs/volumes/4d0f.... Failed to open disk scsi0:0: Unsupported or invalid disk type 7. Make sure that the disk has been imported. Is there a step I'm missing? Or are those files not for ESXi ?? (I was able to use the files on VirtualBox on my local PC) Thanks for your help and happy holidays! There's actually nothing that isn't packaged for squeeze, hence robin's recommendation. Squeeze plus the koha packages at debian.koha-community.orgwill give you an installed system without having to use anything other than packages. For ubuntu lucid its the same except some of the packages are in the multiverse. Btw we are actually releasing monthly, for maintenance releases, and 6 monthly for feature releases but none of them should require an OS upgrade. If not that, Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS. hello every body, I am a Goverment University Islam's student. by the way, How to install KOHA on WIndows? when i opened the folder of koha and i tried to install,, i confused how to do it. n there isn't manual to install koha on windows.. i had made database on xampp, but i don't know where is file to import inmy database,, n one more,, the configuration is too much, so that was made me confused? please send me the way how to install koha on windows? i used windows xp. thanks.. i really hope your reply..

LDAP authentication

Hi there. I want to use LDAP authentication on my Koha (3.2.2). There is any tutorial to do this? Now I've added this block to my koha-conf.xml: <useldapserver>1</useldapserver> <ldapserver id="ldapserver" listenref="ldapserver"> <hostname>*******</hostname> <base>*********</base> <user>*******</user> <pass>*******</pass> <replicate>0</replicate> <update>0</update> <auth_by_bind>1</auth_by_bind> <mapping> <firstname is="givenName" ></firstname> <surname is="sn" ></surname> <userid is="userPrincipalName"></userid> <email is="mail"></email> </mapping> </ldapserver> I don't want to replicate neither update users in Koha. LDAP will be only used to authentication. But i'm having this error: "Can't call method "bind" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Auth_with_ldap.pm line 122". The hostname of LDAP is correct... I've checked Auth_with_ldap.pm and the problem is that $db variable (Net::LDAP->new(hostname)) is empty. Any solution? Thanks for your time. Regards.
