Hi there. I need some help on configuring emails notifications. First of all the server can send emails and the new created users are receiving the emails with the accounts details in order to login on OPAC or Staff Client. Now I need to setup Koha server to send emails to all users that had done checkouts and checkins (also holds notices in the future). I've check the item circulation alerts and the matrix are corrected... If i do a checkout to a random patron he don't receive the email with the checkout information. I've read that there is the user can choose which notices wan't to receive modifying the EnhancedMessagingPreferences attribute on system preferences, but I want a default configuration to all users. The cronjobs to advanced notices and to process queue notices are runing, but when the advanced notice runs I've the following warning: The "EnhancedMessagingPreferences" syspref is off. Therefore, it is unlikely that this script will actually produce any messages to be sent. To change this, edit the "EnhancedMessagingPreferences" syspref. But I don't want to enable EnhancedMessagingPreferences... Anyone have the email notifications runing fine? There is any guide to make it working? Thanks for your time and all the help. Regards. fines.pl working but still no fine charge in koha

Overdue notifications not being sent out

Hi folks, I need someone to point the way here. We are running koha 3.02 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. The server is configured to send email using sendmail via a smarthost. I have run a series of tests and established that the system has no issues in forwarding email. However in koha, the system is sending out notifications for new accounts and reservations, but not overdue notifications and reminders. When i check some of the patron's notices, i find too many pending notifications. We have configured messaging appropriately, added the email notifications to cron and it used to work well until we upgraded from koha 3.0. So what could we have done wrong? what can i do to fix this and purge all pending notifications? Regards, Benson

In plain English, I would like the ability to provide a link to the correct authority term when someone searches on an incorrect one. For instance we have quite a number of personal names that have a variety of forms and or spellings. We have 400 fields for these in the authority records, but they don't seem to come up in the Authority search. Do I have to create authority records for the incorrect forms and link them somehow to the correct form? Flood recovery in Brisbane - pulling data from Koha

Hi All, I'm hoping I can get some advice with regard to pulling data from Koha. My library has recently been completely inundated during the Brisbane floods and nothing was saved except the library catalogue on Koha! I am the current librarian, however, I have only been in the position for four weeks and have not had a chance to learn the ins and outs of Koha. I am also not a techie so am relying on IT staff to assist with my queries which has not proved successful as they are off recovering other parts of the organisation's network. In order to create an inventory of the library collection for insurance purposes I would like to export data from the following fields and dump them into an Excel create an spreadsheet. The data I need are from the following fields: Item type Title Publisher Date ISBN ISSN Item count Location Barcode Can this be done from the back end of Koha and if so, how do I do it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, keeping in mind I am not familiar with this database at all and will have no IT support. Many thanks, Amanda

Just for clarity and so someone can help you, are you running 3.0.2 or 3.2.0. The decimal points are important as you can see. If it is 3.2.0 (3.2.2 is the current stable) do you have process message queue running in cron? You can certainly do this, and you don't even need access to the backend if you are running Koha 3.2.0 or later. You can do it all by creating a report from sql in the reports section. I will find you the sql to do it when I get in front of a real computer (not a phone :)). Sorry to hear about the lost stock, I hope Koha can be some help in the recovery, any more questions don't hesitate to ask. Hi Ann, You shouldn't have to reinstall perl. When you do the cpan install you should see something like Running install for module 'PDF::API2::Simple' Running make for R/RE/REDTREE/PDF-API2-Simple-1.1.4u.tar.gz Has already been unwrapped into directory /root/.cpan/build/PDF-API2-Simple-1.1.4-vDfJo3 followed by a successful install message now that Makefile completed. What new errors are you getting? Acquisitions Language Questions

I have some questions about language used on the Acq page. When you're on the Fund page (/cgi-bin/koha/admin/aqbudgets.pl?budget_period_id=5) it says: Fund code Fund name Total allocated Base-level allocated Base-level spent Total sublevels spent Base-level remaining Actions but on /cgi-bin/koha/acqui/acqui-home.pl is says Fund Owner Branch Amount Ordered Spent Avail Shouldn't we use the same language on both pages? Also, what is the difference between base-level and total? They seem to have the same numbers in them for me. Nicole

Indexing guide

Hello all, I am new to Koha. I have a test installation running on Ubuntu; everything seems fine. I am a bit lost in trying to wrap my mind around the indexing configuration. Firstly, I came to this because I want to set a particular MARC field (035$a) as a match point for bib import. It seems to me that I need to adjust the indexing to do this, but I am not clear on how to manipulate the three Zebra config files mentioned in the manual. Is it in fact necessary to adjust indexing to create a new match point? And in any case, are there any tutorials available for indexing configuration?
