Koha Server Requirements
Hello Koha List from Samoa It appears some funding has been made available to allow the purchase of a new library server. I just wanted to ask the experts for your advice on what specs to look out for and what to avoid please? Is there a particular machine we should be purchasing? I need to provide this to our IT department asap. This will help define how powerful a machine you need.
Another consideration for you, is what environment will the machine be operating in. For example will it be in an air conditioned server room or on a dusty floor somewhere. How reliable is power etc. Chris

my quick/short answer is... get a multi-core cpu, 2 gigs ram, 2 hard disks (RAIDed or not, your choice) and you will probably be just fine :) Mason
