Fwd: koha: sort by year
by Lenora Oftedahl 24 Jan '11

24 Jan '11

Were you able to get the Sort by Publication/Copyright Date to work? For some reason, it's not working for me, and I've poked around the web, and I'm wondering if Koha sorts on 008/7-10 (fixed length data elements, date 1) instead of 260$c. Of course our records don't have anything in 008 but the 260$c field was looking pretty good! Thanks, Sally.

Koha - migration of cataloging history
by Linda Culberson 24 Jan '11

24 Jan '11

Everyone, So far I've figured out how to migrate the records, the patrons, and the circulation history from our current records into Koha. Now I'm looking into if/how to migrate a least part of the cataloging history. After discussions here, it sounds as if what we would most like to maintain, if possible, is the name/date of the original cataloger who added the record (most of our records are original cataloging) and the cataloger and date when the records was last modified. Before I get too deep into this, I was wondering if anyone else has attempted this or something similar and/or what insights the list might could give me on the feasibility of doing such a thing. I've looked at the action_logs table, and it looks doable to me, but I wasn't sure whether this is an acceptable method of keeping this information or if would I break something. Thanks in advance. -- Linda Culberson lculber(a)mdah.state.ms.us Archives and Records Services Division Ms. Dept. of Archives& History P. O. Deleted Biblio breaks search
by benson Mugambi 24 Jan '11

24 Jan '11

Happy new year folks! I think i stumbled on a bug or something got awfully bad. I deleted a biblio, and apparently after that all searches on OPAC and Intranet with a related key-word (e.g if i search nutrition) koha brings up this error: Can't call method "as_usmarc" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Search.pm line 2384. Is there a way to fix this?

Inventory with incorrect sorting
by Beda Szukics 24 Jan '11

24 Jan '11

Hi all I upgraded Koha from 3.01 to 3.02.03.000 yesterday. Tools->Inventory doesn't sort the results the same way it used before. In the column "title" there is first the call number and then the title. I have a three part system for my call numbers. [Number]/[Number],[Number] Till 3.01 Koha gave: 1/ 1, 1 1/ 1, 2 1/ 1, 3 and so on. Now its like this: 10/10,10 10/10,11 till 10/10,43 (the last one in this shelf) 10/10, 1 till 10/10, 9 I liked the first sorting better :-( Is there a way to tell Koha how to sort the results of the inventory? Cheers Beda

Server Specs
by Joy 24 Jan '11

I am working for a company interested in using Koha. I am trying to find information on server specs for them. I know this depends on collection size, patrons, etc. Is there a place where I can find some guidelines for server size/configuration? Thanks, Joy

KohaCon Conference Bids - to the wiki please
by Nicole Engard 22 Jan '11

22 Jan '11

Okay, there are way too many bid emails to keep track of so I have started a page on the wiki for you all to enter your info. If you think there should be more columns, go ahead and add them, but we need all this info in one place so that we can make educated decisions and so that we can pull that info to create a poll to vote on. http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/KohaCon_2011_Conference_Bids Remember there are many more years when we can have conferences and having this many bids this year is doing nothing but making it take longer to make a decision, so if you would like to hold your bit for 2012 or 2013 that works too! Thanks Nicole C. Engard Documentation Manager
