Thank you, Nicole. That worked to report the book title, but I am still getting every book ever checked out on the report. Any thoughts on how to get only books *currently* checked out? KUDOS conference

Hi, all. I read in another thread something about a Koha user group conference to be held in Madison, WI, in May. We are currently working on (or at least strongly considering) moving to Koha from Dynix Classic over the coming year. Could someone provide a link or other details about this conference? I am *trying* to create some reports for teacher/library use. What I need is a report that will list for each teacher the students names and the book(s) they have checked out today. I'd like it to read something like this: borrower category, borrower #, surname, first name, title of book, barcode, date checked out I have written this report, which is getting close to what I want, but the title of the book is not coming up (do I have the wrong value for that column?) and instead of reporting just the books that are currently checked out, the report lists every book in that student's history. Can someone help me to correct it? Another Error while installing test Koha

It says it is installed but when I go to the admin page to edit at http://127.0.1.1 on port 8080, I get the following error: Not Found The requested URL / was not found on this server. ------------------------------ Apache/2.2.16 (Ubuntu) Server at 127.0.1.1 Port 8080 Any ideas where I might have gone wrong? --Jim Maroon

I am currently trying to install Koha 3.2.2 on Ubuntu 10.10 using the wiki page at http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_on_Ubuntu I make it to this step and work through all of the questions Install Koha *1 - Setup and Test* # perl Makefile.PL I then receive the following error: Writing Makefile for koha Unable to open MakeMaker.tmp: Permission denied at /usr/share/perl/5.10/ExtUtils/MakeMaker.pm line 996. Any clue where I am going wrong? Batch import-updating of existing biblios

This isn't just a question on Koha's capabilities - I'm also seeking general advice from a workflow/process POV. Say I have a set of biblio records that are just the way I want them, in the sense of the accuracy of the existing data in the currently populated fields. And I would like to "add value" to them later on - say I find a MARC source that assigns subject headings in a way that I like, or adds links to cover images, etc. looking to selectively overlay/insert a subset of the new records into my existing ones. How does Koha handle this? Or would I be better off exporting my current records to MARC, using an external MARC editing tool to handle the merge and then re-import? Can anyone suggest tools for me to look at? I'm aware of biblios.net and MarcEdit so far. Obviously being able to do this in batch mode with reasonable matching rules would be ideal rather than one at a time, as long as I can review the results before "committing" the update. Or if it's really better to do this one record at a time, does that change the recommendation as to using Koha for the process? And finally, what if there are certain field values that I do want overwritten in addition to the new ones being brought in, but some fields shouldn't be touched at all? Thanks in advance. . .

Sohel, I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you saying you need to do this without having command line access? I don't know of any way to do this without some kind of command line access, that can either be a local login or via SSH if it is installed. For regular index updates a cron job needs to be set up to run rebuild_zebra.pl . Also, make sure you include the list in your replies. Someone with a better answer than myself may respond. Write back with more details about exactly what you are trying to do, and your system setup - is this a local machine that you have access to? Once you are in the right directory do "chown -R koha:koha ./" . That will change the ownership to the koha user and koha group on all files. You will need to run that when logged in as root. Also, there might be some zebra files in the /var/lib, /var/lock, /var/log, /var/run directories. Again I have a dev install so these get installed a little differently, I'm not positive about where they are on a default install. Patron Card Creator

Hi there. I'm having a little problem with the module patron card creator. I've created a layout and a template in order to implement the patron card needed, but i'm having a problem with the printing. The cards most have the following dimensions: 7.7cm of width and 4.8cm of height, which i've set up correctly in the template Next the cards most be printed in A4 paper, so i've set up in the template, 21cm in page width and 29.7cm of height. The problem is that after export and print one batch with one card the card appears too small. If I reduce the page dimensions in the card appers in the right size. If I export and print a batch with some cards, the cards appears too smal and in the page change they are cut... I've tried to change the page dimensions with no success. So If someone can help me to configure this correctly, i'll be thankfully... I only want to print 4.8x7.7cm cards in A4 paper without no cuted cards on the page changes. Regards. Vitor Fernandes.
