Hi I am installing koha 3.2.4 on Ubuntu 10.04. But unable to install the following Perl dependency PDF::API2::Simple I tried from CPAN install PDF::API2::Simple download is ok but at the end the following errors shoed '/usr/bin/perl Makefile.PL INSTALLDIRS=site' returned status 512, won't make Running make test Make had some problems, won't test Running make install Make had some problems, won't install I also tried using the instruction from http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/How_to_install_missing_Perl_modules_on_… but failed. The obvious solution is of course is to have a completely separate site/database; can multiple Koha sites share the same Patron tables? Can you then filter access per database based on Patron category? The main problem with this approach is that of course it's not a black-and-white judgement call but shades of grey - from "a few soft-core bits" vs "pretty racy stuff" vs "outright pornography". So ideally the whole collection could remain in a single database and just be classified using an appropriate field. Based on such a field, is it possible to toggle visibility in the OPAC based on Patron category (disallowing anonymous visitors of course)?

opac search to display recent additions?

Hi, Is there a way to display in the opac only those titles added in the last 30 days? I've been fiddling with URL parameters and CCL queries using acqdate, so far without success. What's best - virtual machine or normal installation?

Hi there, Here, at Arad County Library, we are preparing to implement Koha, but recently the people with whom we work suggested that installing a virtual machine with Koha is a choice we can take into account. I specify that for implementing Koha we have a Fujitsu Siemens Primergy TX200S4, with Quad Core Intel Xeon E5420, 2.5 Ghz, 6GB RAM, mainboard with RAID controller, 2x750 GB HDD, Gigabit Ethernet card and around 200.000 SQL records data base. Is there any serious threat or disadvantage on using a virtual machine? Any ideas, suggestions are welcomed. Thanks! Warm regards? Marius S

Koha errors after upgrading to 3.02.05

We upgraded to 3.02.05 today, and I can't seem to access any of the records or items in our catalog. The searches work, but when I select by title, I get "Can't call method "field" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Koha.pm line 1164" If I click on "edit record" I get "Can't call method "title" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/cataloguing/addbiblio.pl line 899." Selecting Edit items gives "Can't call method "fields" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Biblio.pm line 1975" The messages in the koha log file point to the same lines, for example: addbiblio.pl: Can't call method "title" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/cataloguing/addbiblio.pl line 899 My searches return the correct results. Error in the acquisitions framework

Hi All, I am encountering an error in the acquisitions module. I tested it before and I didn't encounter this error. However I truncated some tables namely: aquobasket, aquobooksellers and aquoders. I did this to remove the entries that I used to test the module. I added a new budget and I attached funds to the budget, I created new vendors and placed orders against them. I ordered a quantity of 4 items. After I received the first item I cannot receive the others, and also when I click on the title I'm getting an error. Label Creator

Hi there. Now I have a label that prints the barcode with the correct dimensions and in the right place. The problem is that I want to put an image above the barcode, but there is no option the layout to do this (in the card creator it is possible to do this). There is any way to do this or any koha patch to solve? The label must have only the image and the barcode (which is already in the right place) Regards. Vitor Fernandes

Browsing the shelf is based on ?

When the user clicks on the "browse the shelf" feature, is that based solely on the call numbers? Or is there an interaction with the "source item's" branch/library, collection code, shelving location, item type or anything else? Does every item show on the "shelf", or just one per biblio? If the latter, how does Koha select which item shows?
