Additional language error
by Araik Manukyan 18 Sep '13

18 Sep '13

Dear Friends, Recently I have installed Koha 3.12.01 Tarball on Ubuntu 12.04 After adding additional languages such as Armenian hy-Armn. I added Armenian according to this documentation http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Installation_of_additional_languages_for _OPAC_and_INTRANET_staff_client Can you help us to change our cataloguing module into Armenian language because KOHA have already translated in Armenian and some of our librarians want to work using Armenian interface (Marc 21 in Armenian) we can see OPAC in Armenian and also administration page, but we can't see Armenian in cataloging module , especially fields . Please look at attached file bellow How can we solve this problem? Please answer because it is very important for us Best regards Araik.

Foolproof backup suggestions
by clint.deckard 18 Sep '13

18 Sep '13

I am donating a server with Koha 3.12 on Debian 7 via packages for a school in Vanuatu and would like suggestions for a simple backup strategy. The 'server' will not actually be network connected, so it will be used as a standalone workstation (at least to begin with). There will be no technical support available. My first thought was to use koha-run-backups and change the location to the desktop of the user that will access Koha. With the thought they could drag and drop the backup folder to a usb drive when needed. But it appears the --location: argument does not work with koha-run-backups. Since I am a novice scripter I am reluctant to go this path for fear of making a mess that I can't fix from thousands of KMs away. I doubt the machine will run 24/7. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. A little of the backstory: http://www.edgazette.govt.nz/Articles/Article.aspx?ArticleId=8749 many thanks, Clint.

2013-09-23 Global bug squashing day - come join the fun!
by Magnus Enger 17 Sep '13

Dear Community! Some of the dates in Galen's RM proposal* are drawing dangerously near: 25 September 2013: feature slush** 3 October 2013: feature freeze 31 October 2013: string freeze 21 November 2013: release of 3.14.0 That's right, feature slush is just a few days away. And we have something of a queue of things that would be cool to have in 3.14: http://dashboard.koha-community.org/ So let's join forces and knock those numbers way down, on Monday 23rd: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/2013-09-23_Global_bug_squashing_day That page should give you some clues about things you can do, but if you are unsure about how you can contribute, don't hesitate to jump on the IRC and ask for help: http://koha-community.org/get-involved/irc/ And rumour has it there will be a QA Sprint immediately the GBSD, but Katrin will have to fil in the details of that. Have fun! Magnus * See http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Proposal_for_RM_3_14_gmcharlt ** Excerpt from the last general IRC meeting: <cait> gmcharlt: can you define feature slush a little? want to prevent any misunderstandings if possible :) <gmcharlt> cait: feature slush -- any new features that have hit passed QA by that date will be included in 3.14, assuming they don't raise signfiicant QA concerns on my part <gmcharlt> new features that have /not/ hit passed QA by feature slush are more liable to be left for the next release; if you want something that misses slush to make it in, you'll need to advocate for it <thd> Why does slush have the name slush? <gmcharlt> a partial freeze, of course

Koha error-- branchcode
by deavorj＠comcast.net 16 Sep '13

16 Sep '13

Does anyone have a suggestion how to fix this bug in our program? I set our " branch " every morning when I first log in Koha. Actually, we are a small private school with only one branch, but I have learned the program needs me to set the branch. It used to work fine, but this school year we started having problems. As I check in books, I get a message to inform "our branch" the book has been returned. The branch is set, but Koha does not seem to recognize the book has been returned to our "branch". Therefore, when I check out books, I get the fatal error message listed below. We have learned we can go in and edit the item in cataloging which then tells Koha the item is at our branch. Then we can check out the item. Of course, it takes extra time which can be a nuisance when I have a class full of young children trying to check out books all at once. Our program did not used to have this problem. We do not know why this bug suddenly developed this year. Has anyone else in the Koha community had this problem? How can we fix it? Thank you, Janet Deavor Koha error The following fatal error has occurred: No branchcode argument to new. Labels with images
by anjoze 16 Sep '13

We are using labels with different colours to represent the different classifications. We want to change the labels and use images to represent the classifications, not colours. Is it possible to do this? Does anyone use images?
