Change in behavior of Stage Marc Records from 3.8 to 3.10
by Hillyard, Cecil 14 Sep '13

14 Sep '13

Hello Koha users, Our bibliographic records have differing frameworks for the various formats. We do NOT use the default framework. We use MarcEdit to add all those nifty RDA fields to our records. We catalog our records and then export them to MarcEdit. MarcEdit does its stuff and then we reimport the records back into Koha. This is where the problem lies. They get reimported back into Koha with the DEFAULT framework. (No!!!) This did NOT happen when we were on 3.8 but it is happening now in 3.10 and it looks like it also happens in 3.12 (ByWater demo site). They match just fine on the control number but the framework changes. This adds much time and steps to our cataloging process. Is this a bug or an enhancement request? Is there a way to batch change Frameworks? Thanks for any information you have. __________________________ Cecil Hillyard Cataloger Washoe County Library Technical Services Reno, Nevada www.washoecountylibrary.us<http://www.washoecountylibrary.us> __________________________ Cecil Hillyard Cataloger Washoe County Library Technical Services P.O. by Daniel Grobani 13 Sep '13

13 Sep '13

Dear Koha kommunitarians, I'm harvesting news for this month's newsletter. Please send me by the 23rd anything you think your fellow community members might like to know about. "News" can be as short as a sentence or as long as a paper. I especially encourage you to send me a line or two for the gossip/society column about what you're currently working on. And if you know of a go-live not announced on the list, please be sure to let me know about it. Thanks, Daniel Grobani

Frameworks, 3.12
by Margo Duncan 13 Sep '13

Does anyone know if it is possible to put a default value in an indicator field? For example, in the 100 field we almost always have indicators of 1 and 0. Can I put those as defaults in the framework? TIA. Margo Duncan, MLS Systems Librarian Robert R. Muntz Library The University of Texas at Tyler 903.566.7174 | mduncan(a)uttyler.edu
