You need to add OPAC to Apache for opening it on port 80 you'll find it in: /etc/apache2/sites-enabled open the configuration file koha.conf with editor that you are comfortable vim koha.conf add the following line under opac virtual host port 80 # OPAC <VirtualHost *:80> Include /etc/koha/apache-shared.conf # Include /etc/koha/apache-shared-disable.conf Include /etc/koha/apache-shared-opac.conf ServerName <your server name comes here> ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/koha/ "/usr/share/koha/opac/cgi-bin/opac/" <------ ADD THIS LINE IN koha.conf file after fixing that, restart apache with : /etc/init.d/apache2 restart And there you go folks it works just fine, Hope this works Regards Arunkumar Project Assistant National Institute of Oceanography Dona-Paula Goa, India

KohaCMS - a Koha plugin (.kpz) file for using Koha's simple CMS like capabilities
by Indranil Das Gupta 17 Aug '14

Kia ora! A week back, I wrote a small documentation patch for the v3.14 English manual to update the instructions for http://manual.koha-community.org/3.14/en/kohacms.html. I ended up talking with Nguyễn Quốc Uy as well as others on IRC. It seemed that quite a few people would like to use it, and that having a WYSIWYG editor interface would be a nice touch. With some spare time in between, I decided to put together one - a Koha plugin. It seems to working nicely, however I've tested it only against v3.14.9. If your Koha plugin system is already setup, you can grab the .kpz file from https://github.com/l2c2technologies/KohaCMS/releases/tag/v1.2 and give it a try. Do read the instructions in the release notes before proceeding. This is my first published plugin. I'm not too happy with the code yet, but it seems to work. cheers -indra -- Indranil Das Gupta Phone : +91-98300-20971 Blog : http://indradg.randomink.org/blog IRC : indradg on irc://irc.freenode.net Twitter : indradg -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Please exchange editable Office documents only in ODF Format. Koha in schools, cataloguing teacher resources
by clint.deckard 15 Aug '14

15 Aug '14

Dear community, I have a situation where a school wants to catalogue their teacher resources but don't really want them to appear in an OPAC search alongside the 'regular' library items. I'm not sure that creating a separate library would be an efficient solution. I would appreciate any suggestions on how others have approached this situation. Many thanks, Clint. -- Clint Deckard Ashley Clinton RD1 Takapau Central Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.
