EBSCOHost and Koha? Is anyone using/integrating both?
by Hartman, David W. - Tech Library 21 Aug '14

I am considering going with EBSCO Host ... I have a few questions if anyone can answer. 1. DOES THIS MAKE SENSE: If I make EBSCOHost my main OPAC system; I can input Safari MARC records into EBSCOHost. I would only have my print book resources in Koha (and would upload them to EBSCOHost) so all resources are in EBSCOHost. 2. CAN KOHA AND EBSCOHOST BE SYNCED: I would use Koha to track all physical resources. In EBSCOHost they will show available (unless I can sync the two). 3. CAN THIS BE DONE: To do so, I would need to purge/cleanup my Koha database to only include records and items that have a barcode. Is this easy to do? What kind of algorithm would I need to save just those records (and their items). Can you help me with that? David W. Hartman WDP&R Technology Library Team Disney 336N

introduction
by Daniel Owens 21 Aug '14

21 Aug '14

Hi, my name is Daniel Owens. I am a teacher at Hanoi Bible College in Vietnam, and organizing our fledgling library has fallen to me. My training is in biblical theology, but I enjoy computers (especially discovering fantastic new FOSS applications to make my life easier) and books, so this task presents a fun new challenge. I chose Koha in part because it has been localized in Vietnamese and there are some people already using it in Vietnam. The more I get into Koha, the more I see the possibilities it creates for collaboration between schools in Vietnam, so I am excited.

Koha manual branched
by Nicole Engard 20 Aug '14

20 Aug '14

I have branched the Koha manual so that master is now the working manual for 3.18 and 3.16 has it's own branch ( http://git.koha-community.org/gitweb/?p=kohadocs.git;a=summary) I believe that the translators will have to do some work on http://es.koha-community.org/manual/ to adjust accordingly and generate the PDFs properly for these 2 branches. Let me know when that's done and I'll update the manual links on the Koha site. Thanks Nicole

I have checked out some books for testing purposes and now when I try to check them in I get a message that says Check-in failed under the Patron->Details->Checkout tab. What would cause this and where can I find more detailed information? Under Home->Administration-System preferences->Logs I have them all set to Log. "Refine your search" in Koha 3.16
by Witoszynskyj Stephan 20 Aug '14

20 Aug '14

Hi, I just upgraded from Koha 3.14 to 3.16. I noticed a difference in the „Refine your search bar“, which kind of irritates me. Koha 3.14 used to list only the contents of the field 100 under „Authors“. Koha 3.16 apparently also lists the contents of 400 fields. In my case, this behavior is not desirable. Is there a way to revert to the behavior of Koha 3.14? Regards, Stephan

Hello all, I have a problem. When I export list of patrons to PDF, the code shows me error that Graphics::Magick is not installed. This module is not mandatory as shown by the koha_perl_deps script. Why is this error still shown? How do I fix this? I tried installing this module but I get a message that the module is already installed and is up to date. Any help is appreciated. Regards, Ketan
