Authority search - used in 0 (CHRON_TERM)
by kamild 25 Aug '14

25 Aug '14

Hi, in Authority search results are records which have 0 links to biblios (used in). Applies only Chronological Term (CHRON_TERM) in other Authority types is OK. Where there may be a problem? KOHA Cataloging (Authorities) Problem - bug?
by Michał Dudzik 25 Aug '14

25 Aug '14

Hello, I noticed a problem when cataloging using Authorities. For example, in the authority types UNIF_TITLE is the value of "test" (630$9 374) and in authority types CHRON_TERM has a value of "test" (648$9 375) (pic before.jpg <http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/file/n5809385/before.jpg> ) after saving the value of the subfield 9 changes authority types UNIF_TITLE (648$9 374) (pic after.jpg <http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/file/n5809385/after.jpg> ) which gives an erroneous reference to the code CHRON_TERM. How to solve this problem? Help needed to ensure MARC export is in UTF-8 encoding
by Daniel Owens 24 Aug '14

24 Aug '14

Recently I was showing off what Koha and Zotero (www.zotero.org) can do, and I realized that when Zotero scrapes data it does not come into Zotero as UTF-8 text. The encoding and hence anything in Vietnamese gets jumbled up. With help from the Zotero community I learned that my instance of Koha was exporting MARC records in ISO-8859-1 not UTF-8. For the forum discussion, see https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/39395/koha-translator-encoding-problem…. As an example, you can look up the record at http://koha.theology-vietnam.org/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=1…. The title is *Để Hiểu Kinh Thánh Cựu Ước*, but in Zotero it comes over as *Äể Hiểu Kinh ThaÌnh Cựu*. I checked several other libraries running Koha and saw that they were configured in such a way that this problem does not occur. The odd thing is that a manually exported MARC record is read by my text editor as UTF-8, but web browsers and hence Zotero read them as ISO-8859-1. I am wondering if anyone can help me figure out how to configure Koha to export MARC records in UTF-8. Daniel

Help -- 100% CPU utilization running Koha
by Iming Chan 23 Aug '14

23 Aug '14

Dear all, We are currently running Koha 3.16.01 and lately noticed sluggish with the software response, including waiting say 10 to 15 seconds for screen to change at times. Last night, I noticed the CPU utilization is running at 100% on Koha instance (Amazon AWS is hosting our Koha) for last few days. Whereas days prior, it would be at under 20%, with spike at rare occasions. No other application being hosted with Koha! Looking back, our use of Koha hasn't change, except adding a few OPAC User JavaScripts (opacuserjs) to customise the look and feel of our OPAC. Is the high CPU utilization is caused by adding a few JavaScripts? Or something else altogether?? Hoping someone can help solve this issue. Auto Unsuspend
by magmatic 23 Aug '14

23 Aug '14

We have Koha set up so that if someone hasn't returned a book in 30 days, their account gets suspended. But we have noticed that some accounts are still suspended even though they don't have any overdue books. Maybe when a book gets returned, the account doesn't get automatically unsuspended? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. -- Tim -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Auto-Unsuspend-tp5809204.html Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Circulation anomalies
by Mesfin Teshome 22 Aug '14

22 Aug '14

Dear all, I am facing a strange problem. I am a system/network admin and our librarians at the University are saying Koha is reporting no checked out items for people who have checked out books, or displays 1 or 2 checked out items while there are many books checked out. The librarians claim they have not done anything with the circulation. When I check the circulation history and modification logs at the Patrons profile, the logs show that the books have either been returned or issued but the librarians swore they have not done that and that the system is doing that by itself. I have tried to look at the Koha-error_log, I see this error message returns.pl: Use of uninitialized value in hash element at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/circ/returns.pl line 413, <DATA> line 522., referer: http://$libraryurl$/cgi-bin/koha/circ/returns.pl Is this related to the problem? Where can I start troubleshooting the problem? The librarians are very worried because bad record with circulation could mean loss of books and they are convinced it is a system problem. We are running Koha version: 3.12.00.000 I will really appreciate your response. Kind regards, Mesfin
