Label creator error
by cjwalke 09 Aug '14

09 Aug '14

For some reason the label creator is adding decimals is weird places when it splits a call number. It is even doing it in for older batches that I previously created without issue. Why would this change happen? I can't get these books on the shelf without the proper label. Thanks for any help. Fatal error on rebuild...
by Layale Bassil 09 Aug '14

Dear all, I was doing a rebuild for Koha 3.14 and I got the following error for the first time. I was able to do many successful rebuilds: 16:03:35-07/08 zebraidx(28684) [fatal] Write failed for file isambC part 0 [No space left on device] Can I know the reason of this error and how to solve it as now the search is not returning any results since the rebuild did not succeed? Thanks and regards.

hourly loans doesn't know when library closed

Hi Hope I find you well. I know I should be posting to the list, but I am a little bit on the desperate side. I am running Koha 3.16.02 and I am trying to enable Koha to have opening and closing time functionality and have been following the thread http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/attachment.cgi?bugid=8133 <http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/attachment.cgi?bugid=8133&action=v iewall&hide_obsolete=1> &action=viewall&hide_obsolete=1 . According to the thread, as you indicated, the test plan involve 1) Apply patch. 2) Update database. 3) Verify that the calendar administration interface still exists and works as expected. 4) Run t/Calendar.t and t/db_dependent/Calendar.t I have applied the patch. I have manually created the openinghours table and populated it accordingly. However, the previous calendar administration is not showing. I have installed Template::Plugin::JavaScript. I have run the t/Calender.t using perl /usr/local/koha-3.16.02/t/Calendar.t and is giving me the following errors not ok 23 - Test parameter order not relevant (Days) # Failed test 'Test parameter order not relevant (Days)' # at /usr/local/koha-3.16.02/t/Calendar.t line 244. # got: 1 # expected: 40 ok 24 - Single day add (Calendar) not ok 25 - Add 7 days (Calendar) # Failed test 'Add 7 days (Calendar)' # at /usr/local/koha-3.16.02/t/Calendar.t line 271. # got: '2012-09-27T11:53:00' # expected: '2012-08-01T11:53:00' ok 26 - addDate skips closed Sunday (Calendar) ok 27 - Negative call to addDate (Calendar) not ok 28 - days_between calculates correctly (Calendar) # Failed test 'days_between calculates correctly (Calendar)' # at /usr/local/koha-3.16.02/t/Calendar.t line 281. # got: 0 # expected: 40 not ok 29 - Test parameter order not relevant (Calendar) # Failed test 'Test parameter order not relevant (Calendar)' # at /usr/local/koha-3.16.02/t/Calendar.t line 284. # got: 1 # expected: 40 ok 30 - Single day add (Days) not ok 31 - Add 7 days (Days) # Failed test 'Add 7 days (Days)' # at /usr/local/koha-3.16.02/t/Calendar.t line 308. # got: '2012-09-26T11:53:00' # expected: '2012-07-30T11:53:00' ok 32 - addDate doesn't skip closed Sunday (Days) ok 33 - Negative call to addDate (Days) not ok 34 - days_between calculates correctly (Days) # Failed test 'days_between calculates correctly (Days)' # at /usr/local/koha-3.16.02/t/Calendar.t line 320. # got: 0 # expected: 40 not ok 35 - Test parameter order not relevant (Days) # Failed test 'Test parameter order not relevant (Days)' # at /usr/local/koha-3.16.02/t/Calendar.t line 323. # got: 1 # expected: 40 # Looks like you failed 7 tests of 35. Hi, Thanks to Nguyễn Quốc Uy's recent post on a FB Koha forum, I decided to take a look at the "Koha as a CMS" wiki page. I found the instructions are still based on the 'prog' template which is already deprecated. So I've updated the page to include instructions for bootstrap. Hope it helps people who want to use the feature. http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_as_a_CMS And my thanks to oleonard on #koha for correcting my insanely-stupid-mistake :P cheers, -indra -- Indranil Das Gupta Phone : +91-98300-20971 Blog : http://indradg.randomink.org/blog IRC : indradg on irc://irc.freenode.net Twitter : indradg -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Please exchange editable Office documents only in ODF Format. reply from poster of "Koha on virtual machine" question
by Shelley & Kurt Kemperman 07 Aug '14

Thanks for all of the replies to our IT guy's question. H e has registered himself on the mailing list, but cannot post yet so asked me to post this reply. Thanks to ever one for your input. I really appreciate the feedback I got from everyone. This has given me the assurance it is worth seriously considering. I haven't fully made up my mind where my target for the server will be but I am definitely certain I will be going the virtualization route vs installing on new server hardware/HDDs. In case you have to know which way I am leaning - I am about 80% certain I am going to try VMware Fusions on a Maverick 10.9.4 desktop. Other option is a Xsans server but I will need to do more research on the Xsans to see if it is feasible for our situation. Given our small library and light demands on the Koha server I feel reasonably confident with this setup for a production environment. Lastly - I will keep notes on the install and report back on the success of the event. Thanks again. Peter Reno

Re: [Koha] SIP2 AF field sent even if patron password is invalid
by Kyle Hall 06 Aug '14

06 Aug '14

I think the essential problem is SIP has two levels of authentication. The SIP server level, then the patron level. I think the SIP protocol intends for the SIP client to behave responsibly with the data it gets, but in reality SIP device manufacturers don't seem to try very hard. For instance, what if we had a system with users that would periodically mine a SIP2 server for data? Let's say it's a university system that needs to know if a student owes the library money and they can't graduate without paying off any money owed to the library. In this case, SIP2 must be able to supply all the data even without knowing the patron's password. As far as I can tell, the SIP2 spec does not intend a bad user password to limit any data, it up to the client to determine what and what not to display given a bad patron password. But, since we can't strong arm SIP2 device manufacturers into using SIP2 properly, we need to deal with this ourselves. OAI Sets - bug
by Steve Sowder 06 Aug '14

I have discovered that if you have a record that is in multiple OAI Sets you cannot use the same MARC tag for mapping them. Thus, if you have two sets with mapping as 590a is equal to TOM 590a is equal to MARY And a record with ... 590a TOM 590a MARY ... This record will be in the OAI set "TOM" and it will NOT be in the set "MARY". If you switch the order of the 590a so that ... 590a MARY 590a TOM ... Then the record will be in the OAI set "MARY" but not in "TOM". Because the "map reader" stops after the first mapping match. I consider this a bug. It should read all of the 590a tags and map each one that is a match. Don't forget that the MARC tag used in OAI mapping must be an indexed tag.
