How to add Marc subfields to OPAC results and detail
by Jonathan Shearon 02 Aug '15

02 Aug '15

I have a couple of simple text Marc fields that I need to be displayed in the results and detail view in the OPAC. How do I do this? Do I edit the xslt files in /usr/share/koha/opac/htdocs/opac-tmpl/bootstrap/en/xslt? Are there any examples I can follow for adding a Marc field to OPAC? Thanks, Jonathan

Specify due date and offline circulation, overdue fines is not synchronizing.
by Jerwyn 31 Jul '15

31 Jul '15

Greetings! I have this dilemma using koha version 3.20. The scenario is something like this: For some reasons librarian forgot to check-out a overnight book to his patron, lets say the date is 7/29/2015 the overdue of the book is on 7/30/2015. After a day which is 7/30/2015 the librarian recalled that he forgot to check-out the book to his patron. By using the tool *Specify due date* he can change the due date back to 7/29/2015. /Assuming the overdue fines for this item type is 10.00 per day./ Supposedly once the patron returned the book on that same day, koha would automatically synchronize the amount of how much is his overdue fines which is 10.00. However when the librarian check-in the book it did not calculated the fines, the fines is still 0.00. We also tried doing this using *koha offline circulation* by changing the date to 7/29/2015, and has the same result with 0.00 fines. Note we did it test to koha version 3.18 and it works perfectly specify due date and uploading offline circulation synchronized the overdue fines to 10.00. Thank you and best regards! -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Specify-due-date-and-offline-circulation-… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Dear Friends, I noticed that auto spell check in Firefox does not work with Koha. Spell check while cataloguing is very useful. Regards, -- Vimal Kumar V. Using Authorities with UNIMARC
by akafortes 30 Jul '15

30 Jul '15

I have setup Koha 3.20 using UNIMARC. For the ZEBRA settings I used marcflavor: UNIMARC default laguage: gr indexing: gsr1 I've imported an Authorities file using the "Stage MARC records for import" interface where of course I selected the file type to be "Authorities". When I go to the Authorities menu I can search and find the Authorities I've imported. What I don't know how to do is how do I set a field in a bibliographic framework to use a field from the Authorities records? P.S. the authority file I used contained, in the same file, entries for Personal Names, Geographical Places, Topical Subjects etc. -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Using-Authorities-with-UNIMARC-tp5848387.… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Re: [Koha] transfers to receive- checking in books: more info
by Amy Schuler 30 Jul '15

30 Jul '15

Hello again, I have more info. Just now, when canceling transfers as described below, I saw that the fields for "home library" and "holding library" were slightly different. One says "Cary" and the other says "CARY". I should mention that only the books that I checked in that have the lower case "Cary" as home library end up in the 'transfers to receive' queue. When I look at these records in the OPAC I don't see differences between them - they all have thefull name of our institution (Cary Institute Library) listed as home and current holding library. I just looked in global sys preferences > libraries and see that there is only one library, Cary Institute Library, code CARY indicated here. So I am not sure where lower case 'Cary' is coming from, or how to merge or get rid of it without really messing things up. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks again! a On Wed, Jul 29, 2015 at 12:00 PM, Amy Schuler <schulera(a)caryinstitute.org> wrote: > Hi, if this message looks familiar it's because I posted it originally > back in 2013, but got no response. transfers to receive- checking in books
by Amy Schuler 29 Jul '15

29 Jul '15

Hi, if this message looks familiar it's because I posted it originally back in 2013, but got no response. I am still having the same problem. An annoying thing is occurring when I check in an item in the circulation module. After I check in as usual, the status becomes "In transit from Cary Institute Library, to , since . " Then I have to go into Transfers to Receive and cancel the transfer for that item before it will display as available for loan in the OPAC record. Any tips or advice? I searched bugs and didn't find anything about this. We use Koha 3.18.06.000 (Linux ubuntu). Hope you can help. thanks! Amy Schuler schulera(a)caryinstitute.org
