It could be memcached (for the sysprefs if you changed those, but memcached normally doesn't store .js files), however more likely your local browser cache (you say: "I typed till this much, refreshed the page, and the changes are there.") Unless of course you have enabled Apache caching (we have Cache-Control: no-cache for the intranet.) Slight delay for changes to IntranetUserJS to take effect
by Dalton Fury 29 Jul '16

29 Jul '16

Hi, I don't know if it is a bug, a feature, or something wrong in my installation. Can anyone explain why it will take some time for any changes made to IntranetUserJS to take effect? I will save the changes, go to a page, view it's source, and the changes are not seen. I typed till this much, refreshed the page, and the changes are there. Why? Thanks!

Re: [Koha] "No Title" in search results

Hi Joel, quickly running out of ideas :( Can you check if BKS is really the framework used here? The itemtype might be misleading. The easiest way to see is on editing. Another idea: Save it again with a little change and check if that changes something. Multiple interfaces - one instance
by Tom Hanstra 27 Jul '16

27 Jul '16

We are trying to fully understand how to make multiple interfaces for the same Koha instance in order to have OPAC setups for a main site and a branch site. We found this post in the wiki: https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Support_for_multiple_PAC_interfaces_by… and I see these lines in the koha httpd configuration file: # Repeat this virtualhost stanza changing the following environment vars to # create multiple OPAC interfaces with custom css and/or search limits: # SetEnv OPAC_CSS_OVERRIDE mystyle.css # SetEnv OPAC_SEARCH_LIMIT branch:CODE # SetEnv OPAC_LIMIT_OVERRIDE 1 but it is not fully clear how this all works. Do we have to create two different virtual hosts with IP aliases? How much of the Apache configuration needs to be repeated to get this all working? If someone who has done this can give me some more concrete and complete examples of this, with information on what changes need to be made within Koha as well as example httpd configuration, that would really help. Or maybe there is additional documentation somewhere that is more complete? Thanks in advance, Tom Hanstra -- *Tom Hanstra* *Sr. Systems Administrator* hanstra(a)nd.edu <http://library.nd.edu/>

"No Title" in search results
by Coehoorn, Joel 26 Jul '16

26 Jul '16

We have a number of records that show "No Title" in the search results. As an example, visit our opac and search for "McNeese" <https://koha.york.edu/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?q=mcneese>. You can see that these records clearly DO have a title: it shows if you click through to view the full result, and it shows in the 245 field if you view the MARC record. It's just in the search results that it's missing. They'll even show the "rest of the title" field if there is one. This problem does not occur for all records. In an effort to figure out what's going on I have updated to 16.05, and also completely re-indexed zebra. Any ideas how to fix this? Managing digital subscriptions
by Doug Dearden 26 Jul '16

26 Jul '16

Hi Folks, We have received notice from one of the journals we subscribe to that they are going to only be providing digital format in the future. For copyright reasons I don't think we can just download this file then link to it using the 856u field as that would make it downloadable by anyone. I looked through the manual but didn't find anything to address this. I believe the ideal situation is for the document to be viewable at a workstation inside the library, but not through the public OPAC. Is there a way to handle this? We are on an older version (3.16) but I am quite prepared to update to the latest release as needed. Change "Place Hold" to "Request Item"
by Chad Roseburg 26 Jul '16

26 Jul '16

I found the following jQuery in the Koha library for changing the text for "Place hold": $(document).ready(function(){ var holdlinks = $("a:contains('Place Hold'),a:contains('Place hold')"); $(holdlinks).text("Request Item"); }); $(window).load(function(){ $("input[value='Place Hold']").attr("value","Request Item"); }); It misses some instances like the at the top of the results page. Does anyone have code for this? We're on 3.18. Wonder if this is a case issue Thank you! -- Chad Roseburg Asst. Director / IT Automation Dept. North Central Regional Library

My next adventure
by Nicole Engard 25 Jul '16

25 Jul '16

Hello friends! I wanted to reach out and let you all know that my last day at ByWater will be July 29th. I do plan to remain a member of the Koha community and to help with the manual but will probably be quiet for a couple months as I get adjusted in my new role as Content Strategist at Red Hat. If ever you're in my area let me know and we'll be sure to meet up in person!! Nicole
