Managing new authority headings
by Iming Chan 19 Jul '16

19 Jul '16

Dear all, Does anyone monitor new authority headings (all types) created? If so, how do you identify new headings created in a given time period? Custom reports?? At this moment, there is no easy way to identify those new headings. Going through the entire list of authority headings is very labour intensive work. I would like to manage this area a little more, after found quite a few duplicate, unused, and even invalid/outdated headings. I would also like to see a more advanced method of global change of headings, for example: $aHong Kong to $aHong Kong (China) [only those found in subfield $a], or $zHong Kong to $zChina $zHong Kong [only those found in subfield $z and split into multiple subfield $z], or $xPictorial works to $vPictorial works [only those found with subfield $x] This will eliminate the need to change affected headings individually. Looking forward to hear your comments ... Alt-y not working on Please confirm checkout dialogs.
by Tim McMahon 15 Jul '16

15 Jul '16

In Koha 16.05, the accesskey for yes selects the renew tab when there is a "Please confirm checkout" dialog. Also the new "Don't check out and print slip (P) button doesn't work with alt-p. -- Tim McMahon Technical Services West Liberty Public Library

Having problem using UNIMARC in Z39.50 target
by Andy Boze 13 Jul '16

13 Jul '16

Hi, all. I'm wondering whether anyone else is using a UNIMARC Z39.50 target and having a similar problem. We're running Koha 3.22.04.000. I've set up a target for Bibliothèque nationale de France using the following settings. Hostname: z3950.bnf.fr Port: 2211 Database: TOUT-UTF8 Userid: Z3950 Password: Z3950_BNF Syntax: UNIMARC Encoding: utf8 Record type: Bibliographic I got the configuration information from <http://www.bnf.fr/fr/professionnels/recuperation_donnees_bnf_boite_outils/a…>. In the Koha cataloging module, I can retrieve records from BnF via Z39.50, but Koha doesn't display the results correctly. Most of the columns are blank. The author column contains data from the 100 field. In UNIMARC the 100 field contains general processing data, not the author. It appears to me that even though the target is configured as UNIMARC, Koha is trying to display the results as MARC21. Is this a bug in Koha, or is there something else I need to do? I get the same results when I try the ByWater Solutions demo system. BTW, here's a copy of my YAZ session. Z> open tcp:z3950.bnf.fr:2211 /TOUT-UTF8 Connecting...OK. Sent initrequest.
