Arabic Language Index/Search in 3.22 & 16.05

Hello and Happy Friday community, I have a question about enabling the indexing and searching of Arabic script in Koha. We are currently running a package installation of 3.20 on debian 7. In this installation, we are fully able to search in Arabic as the 880 fields are properly indexed. But we are also now running a dev/test koha 3.22 (installed from tarball) on the same server to work out some issues of our customization. We are planning to then update the 3.20 instance to 16.05 on Debian 8.5. This will surely be a package installation (install koha-common etc). We are having troubles getting the Arabic language indexing to work on the 3.22 dev/test instance (ICU is on, we followed this: https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Correcting_Search_of_Arabic_records My question is: Were there be any fundamental changes to 3.22 that would prevent the Arabic language indexing (880 fields) from working? Is this perhaps tied to the tarball installation? Should we expect the same difficulties when we update the main instance then to 16.05? Or should we expect all other configurations to roll smoothly into 16.05? problems indexing new records

Good morning We are facing a problem with incremental index of bibliorecords with customized koha marc framework. The issue is that there the incremental index it works fine with the default framework , but it doesn't work with the customize. Where is the uploaded other image for patroncard creation stored

Hold notification not sending to current borrower

Hi all, I would like some clarification on an issue I am having. I have setup hold notifications and enabled the function emailLibrarianWhenHoldIsPlaced and that is all working fine and sending emails as it should. What I am finding though is that if 'Student A' has a resource on loan and 'Student B' places a hold the Library staff will get an email advising of the resource hold as expected, however 'Student A' who has the book doesn't get notified by email that a hold has been placed. Is it possible to notify the current resource holder by email that a hold has been placed or is this functionality not in Koha? Error Database Restoration or Upgrade from 3.18 to 3.22 version

error on step 3 (Unimarc - italian)

Hi everybody, I got an error while installing Koha package 3.22.07 (oldstable) with italian localization on Ubuntu 14.04.4 (MySQL 5.5.49). While creating default tables (unimarc_framework) the third step of installation procedure raise the error (see also attached file): unimarc_framework.sql [Thu Jun 9 23:20:14 2016] install.pl: DBD::mysql::st execute failed: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'insert into `biblio_framework`(`frameworkcode`,`frameworktext`) values ('MN','M' at line 11 at /usr/share/perl5/DBIx/RunSQL.pm line 273 Whith the same configuration it is possible to install, without errors: Unimarc in english Marc21 in italian so I suppose the problem is connected with the italian localization. It looks like this: https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=13669 but this bug is closed with the 3.22.07 that is exactly the package I'm using. Debian packages for 3.22.7 now available in oldstable

Hi, Debian packages for Koha 3.22.7 are now available. With the release of Koha 16.05, new packages in the 3.22.x series are now available in the 'oldstable' slot. Packages for 16.05 will be placed in the 'stable' or 'squeeze' slot when I finish building them later this week. If you are currently using 3.22.x from packages and wish to continue with that release series for now, you should make the following change in your Apt sources (e.g., /etc/apt/sources.list): Replace deb http://debian.koha-community.org/koha stable main with deb http://debian.koha-community.org/koha oldstable main After making that change, to upgrade to Koha 3.22.7, do the following with root privileges: apt-get update apt-get install koha-common Note that an 'apt-get install' rather than an 'apt-get upgrade' is required, even if you are upgrading from an earlier release in the 3.22.x, as a new dependency is added to achieve support for MySQL 5.7. Note that if you are currently running 3.20.x from package (and thus had been using 'oldstable') and do not wish to upgrade Koha right away, you should not do an 'apt-get install koha-common'; you can safely run 'apt-get upgrade' without an unexpected upgrade to Koha 3.22. Hi, Iam interested to know how we can upload files in koha. Iam already aware of the process to attach files to a bibliographic records / attaching files to a member / and in aqusition - http://kohageek.blogspot.in/2015/12/attaching-files-to-catalog-records.html . What Iam looking is uploading an excel file or a pdf where I can ask our library members to recommend books using the excel list / displaying a common list holds available in library etc... to all our library members using news feature under tools. Hello, I am still working on my project in the shadows. Working out details, arranging funding, etc... I was wondering where there is a list of languages currently supported by Koha? If oneof mine is missing, how does one start a new one, and what tools are available to help us translate it? Thanks Joseph
