Hi, thanks for the add to the list. I have just started using koha to catalogue my private library (around 500 books ranging in date from 1700s to modern. Absolutely no thematic cohesion, just stuff I collect and read. When I get used to koha, I plan to set up an instance for our local village RSL sub-branch which runs a small military themed lending library. I have no library skills, but am an avid linux tinkerer and occasional sys admin and programmer. Just dropping by to say hi from Australia and thank you for a great ILS.
A warm welcome to you Phil. Hope to have you come along to local Koha community events sometimes. They are announced on the koha-oz elist <http://lists.koha-community.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/koha-oz>. The next meeting in Melbourne is on Thursday August 18th from 6PM @ The Melbourne Athenaeum Library. The next meeting in Sydney is on Monday August 22nd and details will be announced soon. Hi Irma, Do local Koha community events ever happen in Canberra? That is only 250km from were I live. Melbourne and Sydney are generally places I pass through on the way to quieter country areas. P. On 04/08/16 14:36, Irma Birchall wrote:

Welcome to the community, Phil!
If you have problem, call a librarian !!.
As a librarian, I'd like to put that quote on my wall!:):) And I'm happy to help out with MARC21 questions anytime--I think I know more about MARC than about Koha on most days!:) Cheerio! h2 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Heather Hernandez Technical Services Librarian San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park Research Center 2 Marina Blvd., Bldg. Welcome, and we're all surely envious you've no Collection Development Policy hanging over yer head. Feel free to ask Library questions. Cheers, Brooke
