eBook marc records and subject headings
by clint.deckard 11 Aug '16

11 Aug '16

Greetings all, I have had a query from a school that receives brief marc records from their eBook vendor that do not contain subject headings but have an embedded url with online authorisation; they also have a subscription with a cataloguing company (SCIS in Australia) that can provide (some) full records with subject headings for eBooks. I am trying to determine the best workflow to add subject headings and would appreciate any advice or suggestions. At the moment I can only come up with adding the subject headings manually, one item at a time which is not ideal. Many thanks, Clint Deckard.

SQL help please

Hi Everyone, I'm trying to get a report to identify which bib records in my Koha do not have anything in the 942 $c Koha Item Type marc field. I tried to tweak a report from the report library, but it doesn't appear to work correctly as some of the results do have things in the 942$c field. Can anyone help me work out what I'm doing wrong? SELECT biblio.biblionumber, SUBSTRING(biblioitems.marcxml, LOCATE('<subfield code="c">', biblioitems.marcxml, LOCATE('<datafield tag="942"', biblioitems.marcxml)+19), LOCATE('</subfield>', biblioitems.marcxml, LOCATE('<subfield code="c">', biblioitems.marcxml, LOCATE('<datafield tag="942"', biblioitems.marcxml)+19)) - LOCATE('<subfield code="c">', biblioitems.marcxml, LOCATE('<datafield tag="942"', biblioitems.marcxml)+19)) AS itemtype FROM biblioitems, biblio WHERE biblioitems.biblionumber = biblio.biblionumber AND url IS NOT NULL I'm specifically wanting a list of bib records that have nothing in the 942$c marc field. Any help very much appreciated. I have almost no SQL experience/knowledge! Thank you Kerrie Stevens Harvest Bible College

If you can kindly help us. Mrs. > Jill Best is willing to give us a server. > Hi Anita It is really quite hard to do remote hardware support. So there are a couple of options. Someone from Catalyst could come over, and install linux and Koha on a server. Then train your IT people on how to maintain it, and back it up. This obviously would cost a reasonable amount of money, but may be worth it in the long run. Another option is https://www.catalyst.net.nz/content/pricing Where we host a koha installation for you and take care of it. Another option is, your IT person comes to Catalyst for training Would you like us to price out those options for you? Average # of guests at KohaCon.
by Christopher Davis 10 Aug '16

10 Aug '16

Greetings, I would like to know the average number of guests who attend KohaCons around the world. I was told that there were up to 300 guests at the KohaCon in Greece this year, but I do not know if that number was exaggerated at all; I think that the number of guests would also depend on where in the world the KohaCon was hosted. SQL query help
by Melissa Haig 09 Aug '16

09 Aug '16

Hello all, My SQL is very rusty, and I'm trying to write a query to find records where there are multiple 650 fields with the same 650a subfield. For example: *650* *#0**$a*Real property*$z*Tippah County*$v*Maps. *650* *#0**$a*Real property*$z*Mississippi*$v*Maps. Here is the query I've written so far and the error I get. I will admit I'm very rusty at SQL and if this is the wrong way to go about it I'm happy to try a different tactic. SELECT CONCAT('<a href=\"/cgi-bin/koha/catalogue/detail.pl?biblionumber= ',biblionumber,'\">',biblionumber,'</a>') AS bibnumber FROM (SELECT biblionumber, ExtractValue(marcxml,'//datafield[@tag="650"]/subfield[@code>="a"]') AS subjects HAVING COUNT(ExtractValue(marcxml,'//datafield[@tag="650"]/subfield[@code>="a"]) > 1 And the error: *The following error was encountered:* The database returned the following error: called with 2 bind variables when 0 are needed Please check the log for further details. Thanks for any help!
