Migrating old serials data from excel to Koha 16.11

Hi all, We recently migrated "Books" from home grown s/w via excel to Koha. Now we want to try the same for serials(periodicals). Would appreciate any inputs from the Koha community towards the same. We have 3 types of serials 1. Serials for which our subscription is active and we are currently receiving issues at fixed frequency - here we are interested in tracking missing issues and all the features available in Serials module of Koha 2. Same as above - but we have older issues dated even 5 years back - here we are not interested in tracking missing issues etc, but we want them to be in catalog 3. Serials which we dont subscribe to any more but want to catalog older issues Would the migration approach be different for these 3 scenarios ? How do we go about it ? -- Regards, Krishna

I was experiencing many problems with mysql server. But mariadb resolved all the issues. I am attempting to place links on my KOHA home page for patrons. I have successful accomplished in the past, but I was using another local server as the host, which is no longer an option, and not trying to use the localhost as the provider of the web pages. I am placing the links on the home page on the left and right sides. My other links to off-site locations works fine. If need I can provide a screen shot of the home page. We are in the final stretch, I will summarize in this email what needs to be done in the next month. = Release dates = Kyle published the different dates of the Koha 17.05 release: May 5 - Feature Slush May 12 - Feature Freeze, String Freeze, 1st Draft of Release Notes May 19 - Release Beta, 2nd Draft of Release Notes May 26 - Final Release May 27 - Champagne! What does it mean? * Feature slush - enhancements that have not been marked as Passed QA at this time will not be considered for the release * Feature freeze - no new enhancements will be pushed to master, only bug fixes! * String freeze - only bug fixes without string changes will be pushed to master If you want one of our awesome features waiting for testing to be present in this new release, you should warm the sandboxes up for the next 10 days! = New stuffs pushed (or almost) = == Hea v2 == The production server (https://hea.koha-community.org) has been updated last week. The Koha side code (bug 18066) has been pushed to master and should be backported into the next stable releases (16.11.07, 16.05.13 and 3.22.21). As Marcel already asked on the mailing list twice, this is the LAST CALL. I am going to QA it before the feature slush if nobody disagrees. == Facet configurable for Elastic == If you want to get a new Elastic search enhancement in the next release, take a look at bug 18235. It adds a new configuration area to configure facets. = Technical discussions = I would like to rework our background jobs. They do not work under Plack and it is a pity (see bug 15032). If anybody already did that in the past or has a clear idea on how to implement a job queue using TheSchwartz, gearman or others, please let me know. Unfortunately I do not have much time at the moment to explore the different options and play with them. = Tools for devs = I have added a new commit to the apply_on_cascade branch of my git-bz github repo: https://github.com/joubu/git-bz/commit/7afcfdb8a55384e79405ae44a697c36fa5f5… It modifies the behaviour of `git bz attach -e` when there are several patches to attach. The edit will be effective on the first attachment only. Indeed most of the time I just want to change the status and obsolete the patches and not to edit the commit messages. Just revert it if you do not want this behaviour. Hi everybody, We need to modify the opac-detail.tt? Why? Take a look: If we made a search(looking, for example, a title) on KOHA (No opac), we have the following results: Title, subtitle and the Metion (fields 245 a,b,c. That is ok. When we do the same using OPAC We have: Title and the SUBTITLE (245 b) does not appears and the 245 c neither Do we have to setting something on the OPAC screen o what? -- *Luis Moisés Rojas P.*

Koha upgrade from 3.16 to 16.11

Dear all We have just upgraded a koha from 3.16 (packages) to 16.11 and we're facing problems in aquisitions migration data. We have identified at least two types of issues... 1. Not all orders are shown in the module (they're al llinked to the records, then all the info is in mysql) for example when we search all orders we find just some of them, not all... 2. In funds, there are differences between the old and the new budgest...there is a 4% difference (I guess some fail with tax calculation) We have just now to dig on it.. but I wish to ask If anybody else has faced a similiar situation and have some tips or clue... if not we will share our experience. Printing of individual double-sided library cards with Koha

Dear all, We have recently introduced Koha in our library and now we want to print individual double-sided library cards with Koha. We have already created the necessary layouts for the front and back and a template for an individual card. Unfortunately, it seems that it is not possible to print a card in one go on both sides (front and back). So, we have to print the card from one side first with the layout for the front and then with the layout for the back. If anybody knows of a solution or possibility for printing the card in one go on both sides, we would very much appreciate if you could contact us.
