090 Fields

As I was reviewing the bulkmarcimport I noticed that the 090 MARC field is used by Koha as the ITEMTYPE fields. In the MARC data I am importing, the 090 "a" and "b" subfields are assigned local LC call numbers. Since Koha assigns "a" as Koha Itemtype (NR) "b" as Koha Dewey Subclass (NR) "c" as Koha biblionumber (NR) "d" as Koha biblioitemnumber (NR) What will happen to my original 090a and 090b fields? Will they still be in the database? If so, will this cause item "issues"? My limited cataloging knowledge tells me that the 001 field is used for the item number information (at least in the colleges I've worked). Is that not the case with MARC21? Hi there - I'm not sure if you could use Koha in this way - I've sent your question to the koha mailing list, which you might like to join - http://koha.org/mailing/ someone there may have had a go at doing something similar. I used that snippet of code because it wasn't clear from the default template what information was being displayed (Current Loan: Yes, Current Loan: No... what does that mean? I guess it means Renewable: Yes or Renewable: No.) So I guess it's a bug in the vanilla template, and one that I'm not going to worry about. -- Owen

For the status variable in the template, it is set by renewstatus from C4::Circulation::Renewals2 I think. The documentation for that ("perldoc C4::Circulation::Renewals2") says: renewstatus returns a true value iff the item may be renewed. The item must currently be on loan to the specified borrower; renewals must be allowed for the item's type; and the borrower must not have already renewed the loan. Sorry for the re-post, but I never got a response to this, and I'd really like to know the answer! In opac-user.pl, in the default template, there's a column marked 'Current Loan', with values 'yes' or 'no' (<TMPL_IF NAME="status">) What does that mean? In the vanilla template for the same file, there's this block of markup: <TMPL_IF NAME="renewable"> <A HREF='/cgi-bin/koha/opac-renew.pl?from=opac_user&item=<TMPL_VAR NAME="itemnumber">&bornum=<TMPL_VAR NAME="borrowernumber">' class="padded">Renew</A> <TMPL_ELSE> Not renewable </TMPL_IF> ...but this always returns 'Not renewable'. koha i18n scheme

Hi all, I just downloaded the latest stable version of Koha, and did not find any .po files to start a translation. I know a Polish translation has been done, and someone spoke about a french translation. I'm ready to help for the last one, please give me informations about the i18n process :) Olivier Kaloudoff

Chris, Thanks for getting back to me on this. I just downloaded the latest from sourceforge and ran them: ver. 1.31 addbiblio.pl size 16485 ver. 1.21 addbiblio.tmpl size 21482 This did not correct the problem. As an F.Y.I. these seem to be the same as what I had previously since the file sizes matched, and I was running pre3. Some more information that may be helpful: I am running IE 6.0.26. I have installed Koha on a RedHat 9.0 box, but have built both Apache2 and Mysql4 and their required libraries from scratch. I dont like how RH version controls their packages, and where they put things. The exact error message is: Line: 631 Char: 2 Error: Invalid argument Code: 0 URL: http://host.mydomain/cgi-bin/koha/acqui.simple/addbiblio.pl Hope this helps, but it does seem that the problem has reappeared as reported. Anything else I can do to help let me know. I will add this info to bugzilla. just installed 2.0.0 pre3 and trying to get z3950 search working

Hello, I have just intalled Koha 2.0.0pre3 and try to go to do a z3950 search from the acquisitions section. When I click on the z3950 search link, I get errors on the page. Here is the line from the source template: newin=window.open("../z3950/search.pl?bibid=<TMPL_VAR name="bibid">"+strQuery,"z3950 search",'width=500,height=400,toolbar=false,scrollbars=yes'); I have attempted to make some minor changes to this but have not been able to resolve the problem.
